Andrew Roberts: Every single recipe that I have tried from this book has been excellent and have become a regular meal during the week for us.
They are simple and for the mostpart use ingredients that you would have in your kitchen -- the instructions are easy to follow and I find that although this is recommended for "over the fire" cooking, they work well too in oven/pan!
Highly Recommending! PS: seeing recipes on youtube channel are a good gauge of how end products can look!

Kristin: Really nice book, great recipes, gives you a good understanding of cooking over fire, or coals. I have a solo stove and bought a cast iron grate for the top of it and purchased this book to give me tips on how to cook over fire. very good book

Mark GuineeMark Guinee: This book is a bbq lovers bible. The care and love Derek has for fire cooking is evident throughout the book. What I love about how this book is put together is that he dedicates a lot of time and pages to sharing his knowledge and experience of fire cooking, it's not just a recipe book. It's a journey in fire cooking. And it is produced so well that I have it on my coffee table.

DMaxx: Excellent book that delivers on what it promises. So far, I've done a half dozen or so of the recipes in the book and even combined a couple of recipes with very good results. When I say that many of the recipes are practical, I mean that for the ones I used, the ingredients were relatively easy to find, the techniques were easy enough that even I could pull them off on the first try, and the delicious results were quite rewarding. Tried some on the grill, several on open fire either with indirect heat or directly on the coals. This book makes me want to get back to the fire and try some of the same recipes again and tackle some of the more challenging ones. This made outdoor cooking fun. Bravo.

Jack: SO excited to finally receive the cookbook today - pre-purchased it in February knowing it was coming in May so it was a very cool surprise! Have followed Derek's instagram page for a while now but have yet to get my feet wet in FIRE but the summer is here! This was exactly what I was hoping for - not just recipes but the whole story including equipment, best wood to use for fires, how to gage the heat of the fire and so much more. If you love to grill this is the next level and I promise you'll be salivating all the way through. Very cool to read how Derek and his wife turned a passion into a resource for all of us!

JordanJordan: I first heard about the book through his promo of Food x Fire on his Instagram page and I finally gave in and purchased the book for kindle a few months back and I’ve been anxiously anticipating it’s release. This book is everything that is advertised and more. I love cooking over open fire and I think the flavor that wood imparts on the food is incredible that cannot be replicated over a gas grill. Derek breaks down everything from starting a fire to the importance of a well seasoned wood and the flavor you can expect from the different species of wood, and that’s just the beginning. The recipes are incredible with a ton of options from seafood to steak, oysters and more. The book is a must have! Great stuff DWolf
