GRANDKNIFE Kitchen Knife with Sheath - Upgraded Viking Design

J. Marino: I believe there is a design problem with this knife. First off the knife is well balanced, sharp out of the box and comfortable to hold. That said I can only give it two stars because the first time and I used it,then hand washed it and thoroughly dried it, noticed when I went to hang it on my magnetic knife holder water was running from the handle down the clean and dried blade. I wiped off the excess water and hung it up. I went back 10 mins later and the blade was wet again. This is not going to fair well in the long run. Water trapped under the handle is going to lead to rust and possible bacteria forming under the handle, not to mention rusting / pitting of the blade. Hopefully the seller can comment and address this issue.

Amy Robinson: Bought this because I was so happy with their cleaver. Initially had my doubts due to unconventional shape, but have come to love this knife for vegetable prep and making quick work of chicken processing.

It takes a razor edge with my diamond stick, though it doesn’t hold it well, so it may not be best for those averse to giving it a few swipes on a steel/sharpener every few minutes. Would LOVE to see them make this in a different HRC steel that holds an edge better.

Hole in blade serves (for me) no purpose. Sheath is of mid-quality.
Fit and finish are very good.

For what I paid, very happy with this knife and will be watching this mfr. for more products.

CB: Good Chinese steel for your knife, especially if you’re limited in budget, but of course, it’s not the best compared to other low-end stainless steel, It depends on your usage, so if you intending to use it, it has a good corrosion resistance and hardness, so it could be a great choice for kitchen knife, but if you wish to use as a survival knife or hunting knife, make sure to grab sharpening rock on you, it’s not so great in edge retention, and you might end up with a dull knife if you don’t take good care of it. It is it is worth the buy, I t is Not a bad knife at all, you just need to clean it, dry it and oil it at the end of the task. Easy to sharpen with a ceramic sharpener too.

Joshua A. NehligJoshua A. Nehlig: I own a set of the Vosteed Morgan kitchen knives and I’ve been very impressed by them. I learned that Grandknife is actually owned by Vosteed and then I came across this “Viking” knife from Grandknife. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve not owned this style of knife before. I can honestly say this knife is great. It feels great in the hand and the curved blade is awesome for chopping using a rocking motion. It’s razor sharp out of the box and looks fabulous. The green handle is gorgeous to look at but is also extremely comfortable to hold and use. Finally, the leather sheath it comes with is an awesome bonus. It is a great quality sheath that goes well with this knife!
