when I plugged the dongle in initially the device manager said I had no drivers for it

however, using Windows 10, I plugged the dongle in, went to "Windows Update", clicked "View optional updates", expanded "Driver updates", and selected the Bluetooth option that was there

Paul Welch: I got this as part of a Hackintosh build as per recommendations. The dongle is plug and play for both windows and Macintosh. I actually swapped it out sometime later in favor of a card that held both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 that was recognized in both Mac and windows. However I noticed after doing that switch that my Xbox controller started to lose connectivity when I was just a couple of feet further away from the Desktop box. It seemed kind of ridiculous because my unit is on top of my desk and the difference was holding the controller in my lap looking at my primary screen where connection was decent probably at a distance of about 2 1/2 feet from the box to literally turning slightly to my secondary Monitor at a distance of maybe 3 feet with the controller still at lap level.

So I switched back to this dongle. The dongle is on the top of my desktop unit whereas of course the card was inside the unit with the glass side on the box. The dongle appears to have much better range for whatever reason and now I’m not have any problems with drop out.I’m still using the wireless card though it’s primarily just for airdrop on the Mac side of things. ClienteAmazon: Dopo aver letto le recensioni già presenti sotto questo prodotto, aver visto qualche video per avere conferma ed aver valutato le sue caratteristiche tecniche, ho scelto questo adattatore bluetooth per il mio Hackintosh.
La chiavetta è letteralmente Plug & Play su macOS (provato su high Sierra). Bisognerà però recarsi nel menu Condivisione (nelle Preferenze di sistema) e spuntare la voce "condivisione bluetooth" per usufruire di tutte le sue potenzialità.
Provato anche su Windows 10 e funziona alla grande! I driver vengono scaricati in automatico (in confezione è comunque presente il cd con i driver da installare).
Durante il funzionamento emette una lieve e debole lucina blu, che a parer mio non infastidisce ed allo stesso tempo comunica il funzionamento del dongle.

GEEB: Works with my 2011 MacBook Pro on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3 and when used in conjunction with the Continuity Activation Tool v2 it does indeed provide the incredibly useful Bluetooth 4 LE functions such as Airdrop and Handoff. I have used the aforementioned Continuity Activation from El Captitan through all updates up to and including the latest MacOS at the time of writing this review. Once you have set it up using this tool, remember you will need to repeat it if a subsequent MacOS update disables the Bluetooth 4 low energy functionality .... some updates do, some don't, but it's no big deal and 10 minutes of your time including the 2 reboots.
You must also make sure you have the devices you are Airdropping between or using Handoff between signed in to the same Apple ID and on the same WiFi network ... but that's an Apple thing and not related to this particular piece of hardware.
Please don't ask me for technical support - just Google for Mac Continuity Activation Tool and follow the instructions, together with Apple's instructions for enabling and using the Airdrop and Handoff features.

threej: This device, in the pictures displayed for it, identifies it as Mac-compatible with a broad range of Apple product. The literature that comes with it has absolutely no Mac software or instructions to make this work. On my Early 2009 Mac Pro, it required, after no small amount of googling and reading advice (none from the manufacturer), accessing my Apple Developer account to download the latest version of additional tools for Xcode, installing Bluetooth Explorer, and using its HCI Controller Selector command to switch from my built-in older Bluetooth to the GMYLE device. Along the way, I managed to have to force shut-down the computer and swear in several languages before I managed to get it to work. The fact that it now works, and works pretty well, still does not excuse the identification of my machine as "compatible" without providing any information on just what is needed to achieve that "compatibility." Had I known what I was headed for in its successful installation, I would likely have concluded it wasn't worth the trouble.

Stefan Vago: Ayant monté une carte PCI pour avoir de l'USB 3.1 dans mon MacPro de 2010, j'ai dû faire face à des interfaces entre mes périphériques Bluetooth depuis le montage de cette carte.
J'ai donc recherché une solution, et finit par me décider sur cette clé USB Bluetooth afin d'augmenter le signal Bluetooth de mon MacPro.
Exercice parfaitement réussi: ma souris Magic Mouse n'a pas plus du tout de comportement ératique !!

Kumblesuraj: Fantastic throughput and quick installation on windows 10. Range is about 10 meters with walls and doors. More than enough for stereo Bluetooth headphones and data transfer with android phones.

Bionic Beast: I have a newer build Hackintosh with UEFI BIOS, with only USB 3.0 ports and running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. I originally bought the IOGear Bluetooth adapter because it had worked for me in the past with an older hackintosh machine. But on this newer Hackintosh, it did not work at all no matter what I did, neither in Windows nor OS X. I gave this GMYLE Bluetooth adapter a try based on someone's review and it works absolutely perfectly. In both Windows 8.1 Pro and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1, I am able to connect my Magic Trackpad, Wireless keyboard, and every other BT device with ease. It did not require any special Unibeast drivers or anything, simply plug in and pair with your devices. This little thing was a life saver, as I need my Magic Trackpad with OS X, the two are inseparable. If you have a Hackintosh or any computer in need of good quality bluetooth (has great range as well), then buy this adapter!

SMM: Pros:
- Ausgestattet mit Broadcom-Chipsatz
- Preis beim GMYLE-Angebot ist hierfür sehr angemessen
- Stick ist einfach zu installieren - über Windows-Update (hier Win 7/64) werden sogar alle grundlegenden Treiber/Funktionen geladen und installiert
- Die beigelegte Software (ehemals von Widcomm) fügt sich nahtlos in Windows ein und bringt zahlreiche weitere Funktionen mit
- Geräte-Kompatibilität ist sehr hoch (bei mir gab es kein Bluetooth-Gerät, das sich nicht ordentlich mit dem Stick verwenden ließ)
- Stick ist sehr kompakt, und kann daher auch gut "immer" eingesteckt bleiben, selbst in Notebooks/Laptops

Contra:
- Es gibt keinen "richtigen" Download der Software über die Broadcom-Website (nur einen Webinstaller), so dass man eine neuere Software-Version nicht ohne Internetverbindung installieren kann

Fazit: Super Stick für einen angemessenen Preis, nur das Software-Update ist nicht administrationsfreundlich.

Andy Cho: I purchased this to use Apple Wireless keyboard and the wireless mighty mouse with my Windows 7 Machine. As far as the functionality goes, it works like it should be. Except for two problems....

First, when I plug this dongle into USB port ALL THE WAY(like anyone would plug in any USB device all the time), it won't power up. This dongle has a blue LED light indicating that it's turned on, but if I plug this thing into any USB port on my computer, it won't power up. I have to pull it out probably about 1mm to get it worked. I'm assuming that it's not the best of best in build quality category.

Second, this could be critical to some. So I got my package and like how I normally would, I started to cut the packaging(not the shipping box, the plastic container that keeps the items, documents, and etc..) and what do I know, I just cut through the installation CD. I was like, you cut this packaging wrong, then you're screwed? Ok...? then I thought oh no biggie I can just go to the website and download the driver from there. Right? Nope. Official website of this product does not have download page for drivers. I thought I was really screwed but I somehow...
