kim gran: I like the paper towel holder okay but when I go to pull to just get one towel at a time the roller keeps rolling and sometimes goes and goes and I have paper towels all over the counter as the roller keeps rolling.

JJ: This paper towel holder has a ratchet type movement which allows the paper towel to be torn off without pulling the whole roll off. It allows you to control the number of sheets you pull off. This design, in my opinion, makes it superior to a holder without a ratchet. SIZE: I use Member's Mark, Sams Club brand, paper towel and it fits perfect. The stainless steel finish & design looks modern and will compliment any place you install it. I did not use the adhesive pad for Installation. I found a wall stud and screwed it in using a screw cap to dress it up.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOWEL HOLDER!

D.S.: This worked absolutely perfectly for where I needed it, but the MINUTE I put it up, I wished I'd put it up with Command strips instead of the adhesive strips it came with, since they adhered SO strongly to the wall...Great in the short term, nerve-racking in the longer term! I left it stuck to the wall in my rental apartment when I moved out (I had a very chill but also really unobservant landlord) because I was worried that if I took it down, the adhesive it came with would damage the wall. Since I didn't try to remove it, I can't say for sure, but my recommendation for fellow renters is to afix this with Command strips to be 100% sure it doesn't damage the wall it's stuck to.

Mev: It works as expected, the build quality is not very good for price of it. The horizontal rod has very poor welding joints to the vertical support and it even sags by the paper towel roll’s weight. I’d advice the manufacturer to look into reinforcing the welding joins as it feels like it would give in after few months of use.
