Ron Lindenmuth: not to bad to install

Lake Mead Diver: had a 1/3 hp genie screw drive on a stanley roll up door that died after 26 years. Went with the 1/2 hp
and replaced the springs and pully hardware at the same time. one person install. Would have finished sooner but the the pictorial color book instructions were of poor quality so guessing what went where took a while. Fortunately, this is my 4th opener install over the years so I had a pretty good idea what to do.
The only major issue I had were the couplers that joined the screw drives together. The collars have to slide back before the locking collars are installed. Didn't make sense when I assembled it. Missed that step so when I powered it up, the pieces went flying. Got lucky and found the parts on the floor. The programming was very easy and everything else worked well.

tim: Easy installation of replacing old garage door opener that was struck by lightning. Came with a new track and everything you need to get your garage door working remotely. Priced well also. Took roughly 2 hours to install myself with the help of my son.

Chris H: Our last garage opener was a Genie screw drive that had it's motor go bad and it lasted over 10 years without any major issues so I decided to stick with another screw drive because of its relative lack of maintenance. I also stuck with Genie since I figured parts are easily accessible at local hardware stores and I have already collected many Genie branded remotes so I didn't want to come across any strange compatibility issues.
In comparison to my old Intellicode Genie screw drive, this newer generation screw drive is built better and essentially uses the same measurements I had set before and same mounting points that my old Genie used which I loved considering how much work I did setting up my original Genie. I accomplished this setup by myself with the help of a small step ladder and a 6 foot step ladder, along with the appropriate tools. Instructions are very simple and putting together the opener is straight forward. The most difficult part is getting the opener into position requiring the help of another person or a 6 foot step ladder, whatever you have access to. Wiring is simple and used all the same connections that my last opener used. No new wires...

Maynard G Crebs: Well I just finished my second installation of a Powerlift 900. I got the first one out of a returns clearance bin at my local Sears. I was told everything was there and it was. That one has been installed for about 5 months and to me that's a great sign. I scored that for just over $93.00 including tax. I have a three car garage and my second chamberlain garage opener failed about 2 weeks ago. I purchased my second Powerlift 900 here. Though I paid substantially more here it was a good value. I could complain about this little detail or that little annoyance but the fact is, every job is different. I had different issues to overcome installing the same opener twice. These are not quiet units. But their not overly loud either. Rule #1 make sure your doors are balanced. If you're a novice like me, plan about 4 hours. My second one took substantually less.

The biggest downfall of these openers has been the reviews. Lots of people seem to have lots of issues with these openers. I'm crossing my fingers and getting more and more trusting of these as months pass. Hopefully they will last as long as my Chamberlain openers did. Those were installed in 1999 and...
