Scott: I enjoy a big pot of soup on the stove in winter, aroma fills the house and the warmth helps keep my little home toasty. I add this barley to chicken, or smoked hock and beans for a nice thickener. They cook fast once added to the soup, you will need to add a little more water as you go. The barley opens and softens. It absorbs the flavors and imparts a light nutty hint. Great value pack, you might find it as versatile as rice!
