William Hale: Really cleaned up our water. Before adding this filter to our incoming water supply, we had a lot of sediment and yucky taste. Using a 1 micron and carbon filter makes our water drinkable and helps protect our appliances.

Avid Techie: I've always wanted a way to monitor and control water usage just because I'm a techie. That said, this device is amazing. It's small and was easier to install than I would have expected (I did have a licensed plumber do it but the quick connects that come with the unit eliminated any soldering).

As for operation, 2 days after installation I got an alert of "low continuous flow". Turns out our guest bathroom has been having intermittent fill issues and I never knew (it's so quiet you can't hear the water running without taking off the tank lid). The app shows you real-time water usage and has several alerts for possible water leaks. And the kicker, you can remotely turn off your water!

The filtration is a nice bonus but not what I purchased the device for (our city water is pretty good compared to most). I believe the trade off of $120/yr in filters will be paid by the water savings from small issues like the running toilet and provide insurance against any major problem.

Definitely glad I put this in and would recommend to others.

Yanbeen: 1. As it's recommended to install valve before and after the filter, then bypass is useless.

2. Better to choose General Electric GXWH04F.

3. The timer is interesting...You should change the battery after 2 time filter changed. I would like to use cellphone calender and set reminder every 3 months.

Fernando D.: J'ai installé ce filtre il y a 4 mois et il fonctionne très bien. Seule problème, déjà mentionné par une autre personne, lors du changement de filtre j'ai utilisé le bouton de dépressurisation (bouton rouge) et lors de la remise en fonction il coulait. J'ai dû provoquer un coup de bélier pour qu'il se ferme complétement et arrête de couler. Il semble être sont point faible. Pour le reste il est très bien. Le réservoir transparent, est très pratique pour voir si le filtre est très sale ou les dépôts de sédiments. La valve de dérivation fonctionne à merveille. Je donne 4 étoiles sur 5 à cause du bouton de dépressurisation.

MrBAT: Awesome replacement filter assembly. GOOD Price $$. A great feature of this filter is that you can see in great detail the composition of the filter as it gets filled up during usage. Strong internal bypass valve is the key to longtern functionality of the assembly. This is my second purchase of this filter assembly. I would give it a 5 star rating if only the filter had a stronger mounting design. (Sorry GE) . I would spend the x-tra $$ if price reflects the stronger mount design if applicable.
PS: I almost forgot. In my opinion, I would not press the red PSI relief button when changing filters. I just crack open the sink faucet prior to going down cellar and I would pull the handle on the filter assembly to "bypass " . The pressure would be minimized and you could unscrew the filter housing and replace the filter etc. That's why this is my 2nd filter. I was out of town and my father in law came over and pressed the red pressure relief button to change the clogged filter. The button would not stop leaking from being pressed. You get the rest of the story......

Bowmanville Boy: Install went well had to snug up the outlet fitting as it weeped a bit. Use a good amount of Teflon tape and you probabe won't have an issue.
Unit came with a 50 micron filter, which I changed after 10 days. I wanted a 5 micron filter in place, there was clear evidence on the filter that I changed out, that it was working. The bypass function worked fine and the swap was a breeze. The 5 micron fliter is a different type, so I am monitoring it's performance. Used another brand of filter and seems to be working as expected. We have a shallow well with UV light sterilizer.
