CuZn UC 200 Under-Counter Water Filtration System

Melissa Hunt: So I bought this and wanted to use it on my washer, I didn’t realize the hose would not fit my washer but no problem I was able to find hoses I needed on Amazon. The 3rd loaf of laundry was so fresh so clean. We have a water well and our water is so hard my clothes were suffering. I want another for under my kitchen sink now.

Dave48: This is an easy install. One line hookup. Took about 30 Minutes. I immediately noticed a clean tasting change to my city water. Previous I was unable to drink it. My first filter in on year 4 with no noticeable difference in taste or water flow. I just added a second to my bathroom faucet since we do drink water out of that tap as well as filling water bowls for my dogs. I'd recommend this filter.

Waldemar G.Waldemar G.: Great costumers service! Why? Because they checked my water quality by my address and recommended pre filter as well. I received complimentary pre filter! I do have filter in my fridge. However just to rise my rice, veggies sounds good. I have to lines coming out of this filter: one is going to sink, another one to refrigerator. Water from refrigerator taste even better. Those OEM filters from refrigerator are too expensive in my opinion. This filter and pre filter seems to be built very well not cheap material. Bought another one for my parents.

MVL: We live in a town with sometimes questionable water. We also moved from a house to an apartment in 2019. The house had a big reverse osmosis system, but you can't do that in an apartment!
After researching many options, I settled on this simple solution. Installation was straightforward and quick.
We purchased a VERIFY Premium Drinking Water test kit a year ago to see how this was holding up to its claim of 'up to five years.' After testing the kitchen faucet where this is installed and comparing to both bathroom sinks, it definitely shows a difference still.
So, I trust this is the real deal and meets the claims from the manufacturer. We're about to renew our lease and I figured it wouldn't hurt to replace this a little early, so I just ordered a new one. Repeat business means I trust the product. For something like our drinking water, that's important!

Bryce: I ordered the CuZn UC-200 water filter to replace an older unit that had reached the end of it's lifespan. The UC-200 had great reviews online, and glowing accolades related to customer service, so I decided to order it and give it a shot. The unit arrived exactly as described, and the installation couldn't have been easier. I had to go to the hardware store to by an extra water line that had a 3/8" coupling on one end and a 1/2" coupling on the other, but the rest of the installation was seamless. You will also need to purchase and use plumbers tape on the valve threads, in order to get a proper seal. The unit does not come with plumbers tape, FYI. The instructions will tell you to run the water for up to 5 minutes, once the installation is complete, but I still had a lot of air bubbles in the water after 5 minutes, so I ran it an additional 5 minutes (10 min. in total). After that, the water tasted great, and was crystal clear. The taste of my morning coffee improved almost immediately. The CuZn customer service has been great as well. They reached out to me, shortly after the unit arrived, to check on the installation and whether or not I was satisfied with the purchase. I'm...

easy to add under sink, i went to the store and bought braided metal connector hoses and added this unit to the cold water supply via a split T. connected the output to a faucet i bought on amazon for a dedicated tap. everyone uses it.

Lawrence S.Lawrence S.: We were replacing a Kenmore under counter water filter unit purchased in 2012 because we could no longer purchase the Kenmore filters with Sears going under. The CuZn UC-200 has a 50,000 US gallon capacity versus the 280 US gallon capacity for the Kenmore filters. We would need to spend $10,000 in Kenmore filters at their current cost to cover 50,000 gallons. The CuZn UC-200 takes up a third of the space under the counter. Our installation was a little more complicated as the output was going both to our filtered water tap and our refrigerator freezer for ice. We contacted CuZn Customer Support and they shipped out the necessary components for free within a few days with clear instructions. We are very satisfied with the new filter and support.

Trekboy72Trekboy72: I'd been using jug filtration systems for many years and after using the CuZn system now for a couple of weeks I am wondering why. After you factor in a jug, replacement filters over 5 years based on a 3 month replacement cycle, taxes etc. you are around $150 TCO. With this system you are around $180 TCO but no need to refill jugs and wait for it to filter, it's right out of the tap, for $30 difference that not a lot pay for the convenience since this lasts for 5 years.

The install is so easy and comes with everything you need. You do need your own wrench though. Suggestion to the manufacturer to include a mini wrench like IKEA does?

Anyhow, on to the most important thing, how does the water taste since that is where you really find the value in this system. For my family, we love it. We compared it to the jug filtered water and could really notice the things left behind in the jug filtered as opposed to the CuZn system, no after taste at all, super clean and crisp. Initially you will see cloudiness in the water as the filter primes but that passes very quickly and you get a great tasting glass of cool H20. Ms. C.C.: We live just outside the city and our clear glass kettle had a film in it constantly. Since installing this filter, 3 days later, still clear. Hope it has a long life. Very pleased so far. Hubby says it was very easy to install.

UPDATE after a few weeks, the taste of the water is like it was before and clarity is cloudy again in the kettle :( Will reach out to the manufacturer and updated further.

UPDATE We finally reached out to the manufacturer and their reaction and customer service was OUTSTANDING!! (Having worked in customer service industry for 40+ years, I feel qualified to rate their service.) Matter is being resolved and will update further in the future, but in the meantime, amending my rating from 1 to 4. I honestly think our water is the issue, not the unit. Will confirm in the future.
