RCordovaRCordova: Sounds great and works perfectly out of the box. Bought for my outdoor garage. The bass fills up the 800 sq ft room just fine.

Daddy: I like the look and how easy this sub hooked up to my Fluance I8 speakers. But both the Subwoofer and I8 tower speakers 🔊 are just OK when it comes to sound quality. I expected a lot more. These are probably just a step above my Vizio 5.1 surround speakers which are hundreds of dollars less. The sound quality is good but it definitely isn't going to blow you away.

J and R: This was purchased with intent on deep bass to layer my sound. It just is missing a little bit of umf. Has a hollow mid to low bass sound.

Derek: Has a great finish and sounds great for the price point. To me the overall weight of the entire sub and cabinet are not heavy like a higher end sub with a huge magnet. Still works well for my office setup.

Douglas BensonDouglas Benson: I was creating a whole new home stereo setup because I was tired of playing music through my home theater and wanted a real "stereo" again, plus I wanted to play my vinyl collection. Pairing this subwoofer with the Fluance powered floor standing speakers created the ideal sound stage for music! As you'll see in the photo, this subwoofer matches the speakers and my mid-century stereo stand perfectly but the real kicker is the way-to-control output of bass from this subwoofer and how it adds just the right punch to anything from classic rock to the full sound an orchestra. I can highly recommend this subwoofer, especially if you're buying any of the Fluance speakers it is best matched to work with.

lisa mortimer: I got this sub as a replacement for my 17 yr old PSB subsonic 5i. With the PSB I usually turned the volume to about 1/3 of the way while watching movies. Knowing that this sub is 125 watts vs the PSBs 225 I figured I could just turn the volume up higher to get roughly the same results. The Fluance had major distortion and rattling at 2/3 volume. I have requested a refund.

Laurie: Used to add reinforcement to vintage Paisley speakers. Works great with no holes in the sound

Kristopher DriverKristopher Driver: The media could not be loaded.  Recommending against this product. Such a terrible design to have a stupid branding idea ruin the sound of this product. The hard bevelled fluance logo rattles against the same bit on the cover when it's put on. Must be played without the cover on just because of a horrible design.

Its got decent enough sound otherwise, pretty tight control of amp and cutoff and responds to software eq-ing from the DAC and streaming player. I just can't get over how dumb the design is to ruin the sound by a vibrating plaque in the very last step of engineering process. Baffles me as much as it rattles me lol.

Also note that the backplate gets extremely hot, so keep away from heat vents and curtains etc. Normal for a sub, but most subs issue warnings in their manual.

I bought a couple aluminum heat sinks and double sided thermal adhesive pads. I padded them to the hot spot on the sub, turned down the response (crossover from klipsch bookshelf reference) and up the volume - TLDR: this sub absolutely pounds if you up the volume and help it cool because it dials back response and thump when it heats up and it heats up real fast if you drive it...

Dr.C: This is a very good subwoofer, solidly build at a very reasonable price. It has all the inputs you need, including speaker level inputs. Arguably this is the best way to hook up your sub, because it gets the same input as the main speakers and then low pass filters it. I have tried this sub with a 35 W rms/ch amplifier and relatively small hi-fi speakers and a 100 W rms/ch amplifier with large floor standing hi-fi speakers. In both cases it really boosts the low frequencies making the sound full, deep and well separated. For starters, set the volume level to just under half and the low pass filter to 80 Hz, listen to a variety of music genres and adjust to your liking, if needed. Don't let the 45 W rms rating of the sub's amplifier fool you, this is plenty for most people in most settings, unless you are operating a discotheque. The sound output is deep, musically pleasing and you can feel the low bass notes in your gut!
