Bryan FBryan F: What a difference 10 years makes!! My ten year old, $2,000 FLIR camera had half the resolution and no MSX capability. Now, I spend $550 and get so much more. I'm still not overwhelmed by the resolution of the images. They look great on the little LCD screen on the camera. But, once you download them, it is evident that you see a very pixelated image after you blow the image on your PC. The attached image shows a fuse bank that is getting much hotter than it is rated for. The accuracy of the image matched the thermocouple that I had attached to the fuse exactly. Other than the less than wonderful resolution, I couldn't be happier with this camera. I use it for diagnosing hot spots on industrial electrical equipment and high pressure steam systems. I didn't realize that the technology and prices had improved so much since I last purchased a FLIR camera.

Steve B.: Performs as advertised. The display is a little slow at times, it will momentarily freeze, then catch up.
Extremely useful for checking for roof leakage Indoors (BEFORE YOU CAN SEE IT) - if the display is darker than the adjacent areas, then it is WET ! Also handy for checking wiring at individual outlet that are either over loaded or simply worn out and hold plug loosely - showing this will prevent a potential fire hazard.
This item is a must for the Working Pro, and the D.I.Y. home owner. I highly recommend it.

Jpb: I think they sent me someone else's return, USB cable included will not fit anywhere in this thing. Sent a mini and it takes a C. Looks like everything was already opened. The app to transfer pics is absolute junk and will not even connect to this device. Just take a pic of the screen with your phone. Way less headaches.
The reviews about image overlay not lining up are correct but you can fix this easily in settings. Other than that it works exactly as advertised. I can literally see the studs behind the wall board and air leaks for days. Once you figure it out it's point and shoot and works every time. Awesome that I can change the color filter, each one shows you something new.
The greatest feature of this tool is that I can hand it off to clients during home inspections and it takes no experience to operate. The clients love having something to do and it keeps them busy while I inspect.

Kraken11: The camera picture and thermal image do not overlap. so if you are looking at a glass of water. you can see two glasses. Yes! a double image which confuses me. This seems a software calibration problem. 3D imaging cameras that use multiple cameras have a way of solving this through their software by combing the images into one. Unfortunately, FLIR thermal camera images do not do this. Another caveat is that you have to pay $199 subscription to use their software to manipulate images. The free version is pretty useless.
*Update: I had to call the manufacturer to figure out the horizontal ghost image. You can correct this using the image adjustment option in the menu. Access image adjustment, access MSX menu and then press the center button again until it shows MSX ON at the top with up down arrow. If you press the up down arrow (rubber keys) at this point, the image will adjust horizontally. Once it's aligned to your satisfaction for the normal distance you will use it for, press the center button again. And that is it! If your image is ghosting vertically, the unit is faulty according to the manufacturer. One star down for not including a detailed manual. You can access the...

J. Fox: I have now had the TG267 for a couple of weeks. During that time it's been used for breaker box analysis, diagnosing air flow, and heat influx, as well as just playing with it a lot to learn about it's strong and weak points. Finding good information to compare the TG267 against the slightly cheaper TG165-X was a bit challenging. There was, however, a very good review written here by a user who has both, and stated that he felt like the 267 was a better purchase even for a casual user like himself. That helped us opt to spend a little extra on the 267; however, I have to say that for a FLIR product, I'm very disappointed.
As many other users have cited, the overlay is very lethargic and has trouble catching up with the thermal. At first, I thought this would be no problem. I would just move slowly, but I can tell you that I find myself often waiting in frustration for it to catch up while I'm trying to troubleshoot.
Another very frustrating issue, is the trigger. The trigger is used to navigate menus, and more importantly to take a snapshot/save an image. This is an issue that we have not been able to troubleshoot. When it works, it takes the snapshot every time, but...
