J. Conway: Hard to believe that this product performs so well right out of the box, with no adjustments, at such an unbelievable price point. I did need to buy a small 1" riser to attach to the rail of my DPMS Oracle so I could get proper sight alignment, and then it was insert the included battery, turn the unit on and try it out. Amazed is almost an understatement, as at about 30yds I was achieving a 1" grouping about 1/4" from bulls eye at the 7 o'clock position with NO adjustment at all. When my nephew saw this new red dot on my rifle I allowed him to shoot a few rounds and he immediately inquired if I had bought this at XXXX's Gun Store, to which I replied "No, from Amazon". I asked him to guess how much it cost and his first guess was well over $100, like the one mounted on his AR. I never did tell him the cost, just let him wonder about it. To be used as a personal defense weapon, inside the house, I need make no adjustment on this unit. Only reason for 4 stars is for longevity and it's ability to hold position after a period of time. I am extremely pleased with this product!!!

Aaron: I bought this for my new AK with a Troy gas block rail. I purchased a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot a couple of months back and really like it. It was about 65 dollars. I was going to buy another Bushnell but I happened to see the FieldSport Micro Red Dot and couldn't believe the reviews were so positive and it was only 20 bucks!!!! So I figured, what the heck, if it's total junk I've spent 20 dollar much more foolishly in the past. So I received the item 2 days after I ordered it. Put the supplied battery in and that was it. I mounted it to my AK only to find that it sat just a few MM higher on the rail than the Bushnell. So it wouldn't lower 1/3 co-witness as well as the Bushnell. No problem, I moved the Bushnell to my AK and put the FieldSport Micro on my AR on top of the UTG Riser. Perfect co-witness with AR Irons. So that would be my only negative to the FieldSport Micro. It's not quite as low as the Bushnell. I actually like the configuration of the knobs on the FieldSport over the Bushnell. Much easier to turn the intensity knob on the FieldSport vs the Bushnell. Not to say the clicks aren't positive, its just much easier to turn than the Bushnell.

After 3 years of service using this red dot I have put 2000 rounds through my rifle. The Micro Red Dot has been dumped in a puddle by accident, ran through 10 degree weather without fog, rained and snowed on, kept in my tent overnight through -10 degree weather and for all practical purposes has been used, a lot.

I recently did some drills out running through the Sierra Nevada hills running my rifle to empty and transitioning to pistol. In the running of the rifle, I dumped the dead weight (rifle) when empty and at the end of the stage came back for retrieval of the rifle to redo the course all set in the very rocky high desert, the rifle was dumped in the rocks and hard pack not on a fluffy pillow or soft loamy sand. When I say "Dump the dead weight" I mean dump the dead weight, no messing around, undo the buckle on my rifle and drop the rifle. I did this drill 5 times, the rifle held zero consistently and hit every single time, ever time. On the 5th run I was finished and packed up. Upon cleaning and inspection at home I found that I have damaged and cracked the internal red coated front lens. The red dot still illuminates and the sight still...
