Cesar Pinilla: I've been using Grolsch rubber rings for my Stingray 5 bass for a long time but it was really inconvenient to take the strap off when putting back on my gig bag after every gig. I've used Schaller strap locks in the past for my telecaster but I didnt like the pin sticking out at the bottom and I didnt want to have to drill into my Stingray. The Ernie Ball strap lock works with the existing screws of the Stingray which made installation a breeze. They have a low profile (no pin sticking out) and does what a strap lock is meant to do: keeps my bass safe and it's easy to take the strap on and off when going into my gig bag.

Joshua: Probably the best strap locks I’ve ever used. Not bulky at all. The buttons themselves can be used just like a regular strap button and placing the strap over it if you wanted to. Used with the locking mechanism they lock in very well. I have complete confidence in these and highly recommend them. The only thing I will mention is that when you place the lock into the strap button give it a tug to make sure it’s locked in. Sometimes it isn’t in all of the way. So give it a little tug to make sure it’s in all of the way and you’re all set.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: If you were wondering, these don't fit right onto the OEM Ernie Ball strap buttons (or at least they didn't on my 2019 StingRay Special). But swapping the buttons out was a breeze since the threads are the same size on the new screws, so you aren't carving out any extra material. Really happy with these locks. I've always used the Dunlops because they are cheap and reliable, but even though, these are a little higher-priced, I like the buttons being on the sides better than on the ends like the Dunlops. Also, I was worried based on the pictures, that these straplocks were going to be huge and bulky. For some reason, the stock photos make them look that way, but they are not. They are very slim and low profile.

Joe Egg:
I have had a couple of different strap locks on my instruments. But I think I like these best for both their efficient and easy clip on and clip off. And for their aesthetic. If I had a complaint, and I really don't, I would say that they are just a tad bit too large. But not so much that I would remove a star from the rating.
I like these and I will be replacing my other locks with Ernie Ball locks.

These are way bigger than they look. Imagine That part with the Ernie Ball logo to be about the diameter of a quarter and almost as tall. It sticks out away from the strap button because it sits on top of the button. It has a male end that does the locking.
That said, properly inserted they are great. I take my Fenders with me a lot of places and the straps have to be removed each time. These are solid construction and easy to pull of and on without wearing out the strap or putting weird strain on the button. I'm pretty used to the look now too.
