Lane R Alleman: Every single time I've bought a new instrument, I've also purchased a set of these. They go on all my gear and have been holding strong for years. Simple to install, great hold. Sometimes I need to fill in the old hole on my basses with larger factory screws. But being able to clip in and out of every instrument with the same strap is such a great feature. And if I have a strap without the system in place, the larger buttons help keep it more secure.

Patrick J.: Everything Jim Dunlop offers is of exceptional quality and these are no different. By far the easiest strap locks I've ever used. I switched to these many years ago and never looked back. The small retention 'C' ring can be a little tricky on thicker straps but far from impossible. The single pin catch/release is effortless and they last forever. I currently have 2 sets in constant use that I bought in the mid 90s!!

Jh: In the realm of guitar accessories, the Jim Dunlop Strap Retainer has emerged as a small yet ingenious innovation that transforms the way guitarists interact with their instruments. With its simple design and effortless functionality, this strap retainer has become an indispensable addition to my guitar setup, allowing me to swiftly and securely release my guitar strap with the click of a button. Here's my comprehensive review of the Jim Dunlop Strap Retainer, highlighting its convenience and practicality for musicians on stage and in the studio.

From the moment I installed the Jim Dunlop Strap Retainer on my guitar, its unobtrusive design and durable construction became apparent. The retainer's discreet presence ensures that it doesn't interfere with the aesthetics of the guitar or hinder playing comfort. The reliable build quality assures me of its longevity, with the durable materials withstanding the rigors of live performances and regular use.

The standout feature of this strap retainer is its quick-release mechanism. The button mechanism effortlessly detaches the guitar strap from the instrument, allowing for swift transitions between songs,...

Geoff: I just started playing guitar not long ago and was been told by countless people that strap locks should be one of the first things I should get for my guitar. Finally, after a close call with my guitar, I picked up a set of these.

I must say I was less than enthusiastic about the idea of drilling into my guitar to install these as they old screws were a different size and I definitely didn't want to force them in and risk cracking the wood, so they sat with my guitar stuff unused for a couple weeks. Once I finally installed them though, I can say for sure that they are definitely quality locks. Installation was simple enough. You simply drill a hole, screw in the strap button, and assemble the other piece making a sandwich of washers around your strap end with a u shaped piece that holds everything together. It was a bit of a pain to get on, but acceptable for a one time deal.

Past that, you simply press a button in on the strap piece to put the strap on or take it off. After using it for a good month, it has always felt very solid and never shaky, but the strap always comes off easily when you want it to.. The button is also recessed a bit so it...
