BEBETECH: Update: The radio still working fine, but the crank now is broken. The crank on this radio was harder to spin than the one on my $30 one. If you use it just in emergencies, and not over and over for fun, it can last for the moments you actually need it. With that I am letting know the product works fine and it can last, but don't try to hard to spin fast the crank on this one because the force of it against the force you apply will end breaking it. Use it only if there isn't power and is not charged, and it will do the job.

I have a $30 version, and got this one like for half the price. The $30 one I got really deserves the extra cost, but not bad that this radio has almost the same stuff than my $30 one. This radio has a nice look, seems to be well built, the materials doesn't look cheap taking in consideration the price they did a great job. The radio takes clear the stations, the lights are bright enough and the sound quality taking in consideration the size and all the features on it, is not bad, the sound is good enough.

tim can: Basically the size of a small paperback book this is a great emergency kit item. Do I think I will ever use it? I suspect I will never face the situation but that is what emergency kits are for. In same same way I have other items that I Hope to never use. That said if faced with no real source of information or forecast this would be invaluable and provide a real advantage when you are in need of shelter in knowing the forecast. The radio reception was good and I could easily locate radio stations and weather band broadcasts. The charging works and I I will being checking on it as I do the other items in the emergency kit. In spite of the description I do not see this being a camping item in any way except with kids in the backyard

hope norris: I bought several of these for gifts for my friends and family for Christmas. I also bought one for myself. This is way better quality than I was expecting for the price. Both the solar charger and hand charger charged quickly. I like knowing each of my kids will have a source of power to charge their phone in an emergency. You can’t be too careful these days and this is definitely at a right price for peace of mind.
