Emily: So while picking out dehydrators I decided I wanted one with metal trays and possibly components. See I know from experience that plastic gets brittle when you subject it to heat, and had read complaints about trays breaking on Every Single dehydrator. I found this one and I’m so glad I did, it’s All metal inside and out, which honestly is pretty amazing, no VOCs or other contaminate worrry, and no worry about any parts breaking with wear/age. It fits A Lot. Yes it is a smaller dehydrator, but one tray can fit 1 1/2-2 bananas for banana chips, this tiny machine can dehydrate a whole 6-8 bunch of bananas in one go! I love that it’s small, I can tuck it away in the cabinet when I need to, and unless you’re creating like Batches of something this is the size any normal person would want and be happy with. Adjustable temp allows me to dial in the drying time, and the outside of the machine stays remarkably not hot. Really surprised me. For the price, quality, the metal trays and body, this right here can’t be beat. If you’re looking/comparing dehydrators you can put away your notes and just get this one, I did all the homework and it truly is the best...

Dragonfly72: I dehydrate a variety of items and this works wonderfully.
I can dry herbs and flowers at lower temps so they don’t lose their color or crank it up and dehydrate tough stuff too.
The metal tray bottoms are wonderful too. Easy to clean, tiny holes that don’t allow pieces to fall through.
It’s been chugging along every day for several months now and it’s still going strong.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
I plan on purchasing a second one.

Sunrise: First let me say this thing is tiny!! Be sure you pay attention to the dimensions before purchasing.

The build/design is awesome though. It does a great job dehydrating. It has a very similar air flow to the Excalibur (I have the 9 tray Excalibur - overkill for small jobs.) This little guy has setting to 158°F (Shame they did not go to 165° to be more versatile!) It is very accurate in temperatures as measured by a calibrated thermometer. This little guy DOES hit its advertised temperature range very accurately, all the way up to 158°F. (most don't so this is impressive! - for the record Excalibur is known for its accurate temps up to 165°F which is one of the reasons Excalibur is so highly rated-and thus expensive.)

This thing is the perfect size for small batches. The Excalibur is not designed for small batches so this is a perfect add at a great price for the quality. - just putting the thing in the same sentence and having a positive comment against the Excalibur says a lot.

bargain-blissbargain-bliss: I am writing this after 3 hours of continuous running (temp set at 140F or 60C).
Pros:
1- It is really quiet.
2- Settings are very basic and simple (unfortunately no Celsius degree).
3- The size of the trays is small (good for singles/couples or occasional users).
Cons:
1- Almost all of the body is plastic BUT because we are dealing with temperatures under 160F (70C), it will not be my concern.
2- I am saying this as a handy person, the temperature setting is not accurate. After 3 hours at 140F, the real temperature (put a digital thermometer inside) is 125F. The 15F is concerning. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT INACCURACY IS IMPORTANT IN THIS CASE, IT CAN BE FIXED BY EXPERIMENTING.
3- The trays are not stainless still as claimed (see the image), they are chrome-coated steel because they attract the magnet, stainless steel does not attract a magnet.

I GENERALLY I AM HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT (I lowered my expectations for what I paid for).

A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER: I am still happy with this product.

José Abraham Cigarroa Carrasco: Puede secar carne aunque depende mucho de las condiciones ambientales, del grueso y de la preparación de la carne. Me gustó mucho que fue fácil de usar y de limpiar. Los materiales son de buena calidad y se nota que es un equipo resistente si bien la calidad es media, hay aparatos de mejor calidad pero que aumentan su precio. La relación calidad-precio, es buena. Quizás un punto malo sería el tamaño pero se especifica que el aparato es para uso doméstico. Super recomendable si solo se quiere para uso personal. Funcionó muy bien a pensar de que el ambiente estaba frío donde vivo.
