Anon: I don't normally prepare reviews until I have mileage with a product, but this time, I will. The dryer arrived promptly, and contrary to a few other reviews, it was very well packed, double boxed, with styrofoam protectors plus hard plastic corner protectors, and arrived in perfect condition. I would rate the packing and shipping as perfect.

I have now run the dryer through its initial cleaning sequence, and it seems to work perfectly. The machine is in my opinion very well designed. The racks appear well made, and they slide on metal guides in the dryer, not plastic. The entire inside of the dryer is metal, the only plastic on the unit is the electronic display, and the side hand holds for lifting. The fan is plainly audible, but not annoyingly loud. I doubt that we will elect to run it downstairs rather than in the kitchen, but the jury is out on that.

The recipe book is excellent, well written, and has all manner of recipes and information. There are over twenty recipes for jerky, for example.

I will update this after we run some food through it, but my initial impression is that the machine is a far better design than the Excalibur unit that I recently...

MegMeg: This was my first attempt at dehydrating my home-grown foods and I'm so impressed with how simple this dehydrator was to set up. It's very intuitive, the manual is helpful, and it really locks in the flavour of the food. Bonus: the racks clean very well in the dishwasher!

Tony: 09-23-2023 A Quick Update:
Due to stock shortage it took a bit long for Cosori to ship the replacement machine (the customer services did keep me informed about the delay.) I’m glad to report that the new machine has finally been delivered to me a couple of days ago. Yesterday I did the burn-in process at 165 F. Measurement with the oven bimetal thermometer at this setting showed that the new machine reached the desired temperature, and my instant read digital thermocouple probe meter showed the highest (instant) reading at 174 F, while the old machine barely reached 155 F at this setting. Because of this and the excellent support from Cosori customer services -the company really stands behind its product- I have changed my initial one-star rating to five-star. Will follow-up with a more detail testing at other temp settings.

Mountain Mama: I got this for Christmas 2022 and love it. I would get this one again if I had to do it over. I originally had the large Excalibur but decided I didn't like all the plastic and the resulting flimsiness (damaged in shipping) so exchanged it for this one (the 10-tray) and like having the metal much better. Pros: 1) Very generous drying capacity, which comes in handy during harvest time. 2) Temperature control and range - I don't know that I will ever need down to the degree, but every 5 degrees is great, and I can do everything from delicate herbs to jerky if I want. 3) The air circulation system does seem to dehydrate better than the circular Oster model I was given just to see if I liked dehydrating. 4) The glass door is nice to keep a general eye on progress. Cons: 1) The trays are fairly close together, which may restrict airflow somewhat, so I start out loading every other tray but typically wind up using most or all of the trays. I also try to skip completely the top and bottom trays due to their proximity to the top and bottom of the interior. 2) It only came with one fruit roll sheet and one mesh tray - both hard plastic.
