EDUP Long-Range Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter with High Gain Antenna for PCs

avidreader: I bought this item for work. I needed a Bluetooth adapter for the new phone systems implemented at work. It has an incredible range for my Bluetooth earbuds that I am using, allowing me freedom to move about the office and deal with things while still being able to attend to my clients on the phone. I have actually stepped outside of the office for a break and made it quite a distance before losing signal. I would recommend this adapter for anyone who does not want to be wired into a computer headset that isn’t Bluetooth capable.

Jordan Quiles: It does what it says. If you have a PC with absolutely atrocious Bluetooth range, plug this baby in and enjoy actually getting to use your headphones/mouse/whatever (the problem is usually headphones).

Now, this device claims it requires a specialized driver to function properly (coming with a CD-ROM to install with or, unless you're one of the five people left who still has an optical drive, a download link). IT DOES NOT. It uses the standard Logitech Bluetooth driver, which there's a pretty good chance your computer (especially with Win11) already has. All you need to do is plug it in and restart.

Brevity: If you had poor bluetooth reception and considered this device to improve it: FORGET ABOUT IT.
First, it is not Plug-and-Play so it comes with it's own bluetooth driver on a mini-cd and, when you try to install that software it may tell you there is an "Unauthorized Bluetooth Adapter" on your system. If you search Google, as I did, you discover it's the Intel Bluetooth Driver with which it is incompatible. OK, you may decide, I will temporarily disable it in Device Manager to install this. When you do, NONE of your Bluetooth devices work and you can't even uninstall them to get them reinstalled with this driver. If you do further research you discover Microsoft knew that the Realtek driver has been incompatible and disabled its use in certain previous versions of Windows 10. But said it should work in Version 1909 with the latest Realtek driver - which is what is on the mini CD. And my Windows version is 21H2, later than 1909. So I sent an email to Realtek for support (you wouldn't expect phone support would you) and told them all this requesting an urgent immediate reply. Did the Realtek server give me an acknowledgement of my support request? NO. Did they answer on the same...

Robert C. Brooks: I bought the Bluetooth dongle for a desktop computer without Bluetooth capability that runs Windows 10. My computer has two USB 2 ports on the front and four on the back. There two USB 3 ports on the back. There is a four port USB 3 hub connected to one of the USB 3 ports. I plugged the dongle directly into the USB hub and powered on. The computer recognized the Bluetooth device but could not pair with my headphones or speakers. I did some research and learned the Bluetooth systems operate at 2.4 GHz. Likewise, WIFI, wireless mice and USB 3 hubs operate at or near 2.4 GHz. The problem was the Bluetooth dongle was too close to the USB 3 hub and was picking up interference. The solution was to move the Bluetooth dongle way from the USB 3 hub. I am sure that I over did it when I plugged a 10ft USB extension cable into one of the USB 2 ports on the back of the computer and plugged the dongle into the cable. I ran the cable as far as it could reach up a wall and hung the dongle from a picture hook. It works great now.
