Get the light you need to ride safely today! WX: I have been a long time Fenix user and bought from EdisonBright several times.
I was surprised to see that they sold Fenix BC30R at a much lower price than other sellers. Why people chose other product page? Then I noticed that this product page lists BC30R as 1600lm while other product page lists it as 1800lm. That must be the reason!
1. Is this Fenix brand or EdisonBright Brand?
It is a Fenix BC30R, sold by EdisonBright, bundled with 2 AA and 2 AAA batteries. The bundled batteries are not for the bike light. Batteries are branded as EdisonBridght.
I have used Fenix flashlights and bike lights for 10 yrs. For me, this Fenix BC30R looks 100% genuine.
2. Why 1600 lm not 1800 lm?
Fenix BC30R has several versions. The original version’s brightness was 1600 lm when Fenix launched it in 2016. In 2017, Fenix upgrade BC30R to 1800 lm silently.
In some Fenix webpage you can find explanation of the 2017 upgrade. But most retailer won't mention the version.
3. Is this the 1600 lm version or the 1800 lm version?
I suspect when EdisonBright listed this product years ago, it is 1600 lm. I have no evidence for that.
But any 1600 lm version BC30R are 5 yrs...

Tom Sumter: Battery life is very long! How long, you ask? The display will tell you exactly how many hours a given setting will last. I love that feature!!!
At the lowest setting the light says it will burn for 25 hours, at a setting bright enough to ride to it lasts almost 13h. That’s incredible and worth 6 stars in my book.

Mike Phan: It's a nice and hefty light. It's not that heavy. Pros are the LCD display for the battery time life and the mounting bracket is sturdy. Cons are 1800 lumens is a push/hold down. You can't access the 1800 from the buttons on the light but only on the remote. It's not ideal if you want to use the 1800 by holding the button. Who rides and hold a button. Totally unsafe. Lastly, the light is more like natural not the white light I was hoping.

ocnLogan: I cycle to work every day. The entire length of my commute is on an unlit multi-use path. The path is also tree lined/covered for 2/3 of its length. This means in the dark times of the year, it is VERY dark. I needed a light that worked well for a commuter who also needs to "see" rather than just to "be seen". My previous 3x aaa light is proof of this, as I nearly ran into a foolish pedestrian standing in the middle of the path last season, which is what prompted me to invest in a better light.
I did a lot of research, and discovered that I likely needed at least 500 lumens to really "see" well at speed (~15-20 mph is my typical commuting pace). I was also wanting something that was self contained (easy to take off the bike when using it to commute), something that had decent battery life, and USB rechargeable was a bonus, but not a requirement.
I very nearly went with the previous version of this light (the BC30, more tempting because of the replaceable batteries, and higher output). But eventually decided that I likely didn't need the extra output, and that the ability to charge anywhere was worth more to me.
So far I've had the light for about a month. And...

REB4: Great light for the money. I use two on my handlebars with my smaller Niterider on my helmet. The battery life is long, but what is also great
is that it tells you exactly how much time you have left in that specific mode you are on. I've crashed with it and dropped it on my tile dloor and it has survived. I have also used it in the rain and it seemed fine. Several of my group's riders use it 2-3 times a week on night rides and still couch for their quality. I have had these for almost a year without a problem. Alao, make sure to tighten these before everyride.
