Texanne: This is the second book in a series. But, it works as a stand alone read. Four women, best friends, have moved to Florida and plan to open an inn and cafe on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico. They have moved to a small community and the women want to protect that community and keep its natural charm.
Michelle is the one who inherited the house and five acres. Her biological mother left the property to her. Nina is a renowned chef and she will be the one to run the planned cafe. Erin is an outdoor person. She has been a guide and led people on kayaking trips. She will provide activities for the guests of the inn. Reggie, Erin’s younger sister, is a gardener. She has plans for decorative plants as well as a garden that can provide vegetables for the cafe.
They need to get permission from the town council for rezoning and then they can proceed with their plans.
This book is focuses on Reggie and her recovery from her divorce. Her husband was a controlling man who found fault with everything she did. It is taking her awhile to get past the sense that she is a failure at life. Her friends provide a good basis for her personal growth and realization that she is a...

Gayle Doukas: I just finished reading The Secret at Sugar Sand Inn by Leigh Duncan and have concluded that there is no secret at the Sugar Sand Inn. The title is misleading. But regardless of that, I still enjoyed the book. The book is the continuing story of the four friends, Michelle, Erin, Reggie and Nina and their quest to open up an inn in Sugar Sand, Florida. Although the book reflects each characters point of view, this book seemed to be primarily about Reggie. The characters are relatable and the story is interesting. I am willing to continue the journey and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

PamD: If you enjoy getting lost in a story & not surfacing until you are done, you’ll love this book! Leigh Duncan’s second book in the series is a continuation of Book 1 but mainly focusing on Reggie. She thought her life was on track to give her everything she wanted with the only hiccup being an inability to conceive. She’s sure that can be resolved though. Then in one day, her world crashed down. She received some devastating news & on top of that, the husband she had supported through law school, wants a divorce. How can she survive all of this?
Ms. Duncan writes stories about strong vibrant women that manage to survive everything life throws at them. I love the characters that reside in her stories. They could be the women in your neighborhood that you admire, your best friends, or the woman you wish you could be. The stories pull you in from the beginning & you don’t surface until you are at the end & fervently wishing it continued on. I can’t wait to see how this story continues into Book 3!
