Antoinette: These are a great substitute for the local restaurant's dumplings. However, the included dipping sauce is a bit sweeter than I like. Fortunately, I've created my own dipping sauce recipe, so its not a major issue for me. Anyhoo, I've cooked them according to both the package directions via boiling and microwave. Then, I tried steaming them and its officially become my preferred preparation method because the steam thoroughly cooks the potsticker's wrapper and makes it tender without falling apart.
HOW TO STEAM:
* Place a rack in a pot with just enough water to barely touch the rack.
* Next, put potstickers on the rack and cover the pot.
* Bring the water to a boil and reduce the heat to a simmer.
* Steam for 15 minutes, turn over and cook 15 minutes more or until the center temperature reaches the package recommendation.
* Remove potstickers from steamer – Enjoy!
Note - I'd use my Bamboo Steamer if I were preparing an extra-large batch for a crowd, but since its only for one person (Me!) I use the cooking method above.
