Sydney M: The frying pan is a lot bigger than we really need - but that's on me. Just wasn't thinking when I ordered it, and for anyone with a family larger than our 2 people, the size would be a real plus.

It's easy to use and clean, though I worry about the instructions that say it should only be placed on heat resistant surfaces. I'm worried it might ruin our counters and have been putting it on the stove - an available surface since I bought the electric skillet to make less use of our gas stove to cut down on irritants for my husband's COPD.

This week I need it for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for which the stove will also be needed, and will have to set it up on the washing machine in the room adjoining the kitchen, while wondering if I'm being overcautious.

None of this is particularly convenient - though it won't be a problem if you have tile or granite countertops.

Scott: I spent a LOT of time reading reviews before buying this, and I'm very happy I did. We were replacing an old-fashioned skillet (the kind gramma used to use) and really liked the basic features: the heating element is effectively welded to the bottom, the pan is solid and distributes heat well, the entire unit is submersible and safe to wash, and it was solid and felt well built. This unit is all that, AND it's newer non-stick surface is a dream. It's bigger than the old one, and still heats evenly... we can simmer sauce or boil water in it, or make pancakes or eggs and have everything heat evenly, no problem. The vented glass top is a nice addition. When done, put it in the sink or dishwasher and completely clean it and just let it dry... simple as that. The heating element works exactly like the old one: easy to access & read and holds temp well (doesn't fluctuate wildly when it reaches temp). Yea it costs more than the "recommended cheap brands" but I HIGHLY recommend it!

Amazon Customer: Constantly turns off/on with hot spots. Fixed where the controller is inserted three times as it won't insert properly. Fourth time was the end of life for the skillet.

mindshift: My last two ceramic surface electric skillets started flaking off over the heating element within three months. This surface still looks great, and I use it weekly. I can't speak to the advertised steam vent efficacy; I remove the lid if I want to reduce a sauce. I appreciate the straight-out control and cord. Those where the cord turns 90° to the control unit don't work well in my kitchen. The leg and handle units have not loosened up since assembly; other brands were constantly needing to be tightened.

Monika Dennis KrallMonika Dennis Krall: Great addition for my little basement suite kitchen. Between it and my Toaster oven, I can manage any meal for two of us. I am saddened though that the knob of the lid constantly has to be tightened. I guess it doesn’t matter how much money you spend on something anymore, it’s all made in china regardless of the brand name. Apart from that nuisance problem, the Delonghi electric skillet suits my needs and I have made a few nice meals already, including a rib eye steak with onions and zucchini zuddles.

Grace: I love the size of this frying pan. It is 3” deep as well so it holds quite a bit. Because it has an element on the bottom the heating is a bit uneven but all of them are like that. Otherwise it is a great product

Chris Schmidt: My parents have a Hamilton Beach electric skillet that we used when we were camping this past summer. I was impressed with how easy it was to use and clean. I came home and searched Amazon for a quality skillet...and landed on this gem. As always, I checked out the reviews and knew that there are always reviews from people who got a “lemon”. However, there were far more positive reviews so I decided to order it. Best decision ever! It DOES cook evenly. The temperature control DOES work properly. The non-stick coating DOES stay on. There are NO nicks, NO dings, NO scratches on the surface. It IS super easy to wash either by hand or in the dishwasher. In my opinion (for whatever it’s worth) this skillet is well worth the price!
