smithgg: I enjoyed this story about the strength and courage of an aunt and her niece who had a love and a protectiveness for their beloved Alaskan reindeers. When a jealous, calloused hearted, and absent for many years brother shows up for “what belongs to him”, the story becomes suspenseful. Greed is a terrible thing.

Dana Mentink has done it again! She has penned another exciting Love Inspired Suspense novel, this one Yukon Justice, (# 7 Alaska Canine Unit) that kept me glued to my seat and flipping pages as quickly as possible.

How could I not like this book? I love Mentink’s suspense writing style. It’s heart-pounding, but not horror-genre material. It’s realistic, and I feel like her characters, Brayden, Katie, Addie, Quinn, and Charlie, are down-to-earth people that anyone might know.

Animals. If an author uses animals in her story well, I’m hooked. Brayden's K-9 side-kick, Ella, a big Newfie, is so well described as to make me want to know her. I love that she is a smidge less than perfect. And the reindeer. Mentink has done her research, and I learned a lot. Plus the reindeer are rescue animals. Gruff Sunt Addie, who hardly has a kind word for anyone, will sacrifice everything to save her reindeer.

Oh, and Dana includes a small, secondary romance. I love it because it’s the type I and some others are hoping to see more of in books.

Deb: Wow this story had so many ups and downs. It sure didn't look like they were going to be able to catch Uncle Terrance. I'm so happy things have turned around. I have enjoyed reading every book in this series. I'm looking forward to the next one. If you hadn't started this series you really need to get reading. If you read them in order they will make alot more sense.

Rgrainer: You really must read these in order. The stories all follow, so the first one leads you to the second one, etc. This is book 7, so you need to read all 6 of the ones before to get this one. If you haven't, then do that before going to this one.

So we currently have 3 separate mysteries to deal with: the missing two reindeer, the wilderness survival son of a woman with cancer and the missing pregnant fiancee. This story helps solve the reindeer mystery. Katie has taken a leave from her post as assistant to the Alaska K-9 Unit commander. Brayden thought she was too young for the position and recommended she not be hired. However, now he is in charge of her protection as she tries to help her aunt on the reindeer rescue ranch. There is a lot of action right from the get-go! Braden learns to care for and respect Katie, while she learns that he is not the stiff person she thought he was. Will he be able to keep her and her aunt alive while helping with reindeer? Or did his respect come too late!

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character and action oriented storyline that has some kissing but no steam. The characters are vibrant and...
