No test run was done since it was a gift, and no report has been given as of yet. It came at a competitive price, was on time, and was as described.

Anthony Bert CroftAnthony Bert Croft: What can I say about this knife? First, it is razor sharp right out of the box. I truly wasn’t expecting it to be this sharp right out of the box. I thought I would have to sharpen it. Truly Great German steel. Maybe not as hard as some real expensive name brands but for the price, this knife can’t be beat. I plan on buying some of their other knives. Yes, it’s made in China but not everything made in China is junk. Something tells me that the Cutluxe name is going to get big.

Coltello di ottima manifattura, lama molto tagliente e lunga così da facilitare il taglio di qualsiasi pezzo di carne o frutta. Impugnatura solida e maneggevole. Consiglio l’acquisto!!!

Tom: Spent 18 hours smoking a brisket (which did turn out great by the way), so I wanted a nice knife to cut this with. We all know SS is great, but doesn't stay as sharp, so I was looking for a blade that was CS as well. Now I know a bit about metals, but not enough to get into the 1,000's of allows they make now adays, nor do I work as a chief, so I'm not going into those. It's a big blade, can cut through any brisket I can fit on my smoker (14" or less) and did a great job slicing that sucker up into "I'm going to over eat tonight" size strips. And while a spoon could have cut this brisket, It was nice to have the right tool for the job. The blade is still sharp, the handle fits well in your hand, and came in a really nice box (not that I'm going to display my knife) or am I....I have not needed customer service so can't comment on that, but would not hesitate to buy this brand, from this seller again

BiggsTheGoalie: The media could not be loaded. Had a chance to use this knife for the first time last night. For context, I've used a Dalstrong slicer in the past (which admittedly was a really nice knife) and more recently a Mercer. My opinion, of course, but the Cutluxe is at least on par, if not better than both.
Pros:
*Comes nice and sharp in the box
*Well packaged and lots of good info
*Slightly thicker blade than the Mercer (no blade wobble and it feels more substantial)
*Comfortable handle
*Cleans up easily
I got this slicer on Prime Day and I'm not sure you'll find a better value. Overall, I like it vs. the Mercer due to the slightly thicker blade, more comfortable wood handle and it just seems to overall do a better job of cutting with less force needed. I'd actually been using our Farberware chef's knife (the one that comes in your standard block set) over the Mercer, mostly due to it's ability to cut into a good bark on smoked meats. The Cutluxe had no problem with that.
In the past, I did really like my Dalstrong, which was a Gladiator series knife I gave up to my now ex. The Cutluxe is on par with that knife, and in all honesty...seems to be...

Chasbeaux: The knife is very sharp out of the box. I’ve only had a few chances to use the knife but it has done a very good job of slicing brisket and cutting ribs. So far, the edge has held up well and it appears as though it will stay sharp for quite some time. I run it across a carbide sharpener after each use and I’m hopeful that I won’t need to do a full sharpening anytime soon. The knife is somewhat light in my opinion. I prefer a knife be more substantial but, for the performance I have experienced I think I can forgive the lighter weight. All in all I gave it a 4 although it is still a little too early for a true assessment.
