Oliver P. Leveritt: These knives are a decent purchase for the money. I don't find them to be sharper or better performing than the tomato knife that came in a set of kitchen knives that my wife bought at Costco a few years back.
Pay attention to the "hand wash only" part. My wife didn't realize that and put them in the dishwasher. The shiny handles turned black and oxidized due to the detergent. They were kinda rough, too. I just polished them with Barkeepers Friend -- still black -- and went on with life.
As for all the reviews raving about their sharpness -- I guess those people aren't accustomed to using good knives, because these knives rate as mediocre across the board in every aspect. I just find them to be a usable tool without spending over $100 for the excellent tomato knife that I really want.
