Mike AndersonMike Anderson: Ordered this to keep our 8 week old puppy out of parts of the house and in an area where any accidents can be easily cleaned up.

The gate arrived sealed in the original packaging. Once opened up, I found all the parts to be attached to the main gate with white zip ties. Once installed, I cut the RED zip tie for the gate to have it’s final tension on the walls. It is important to keep the 1/8 inch gap between the gate and the frame prior to cutting the red zip tie. I used the 1/8 inch gap tool provided.

The gate works perfectly in both directions. I would highly recommend this gate.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: This has the option to be used as a pressure mounted gate OR a permanent, hard-mounted gate. Comes with everything you need for either option. If you're using it for kids, I'd hard-mount it for safety since it's metal. We are using it as a pressure mounted gate at bottom of stairs to keep new puppy from going upstairs. Easy to put together but REALLY FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS, and don't undo the big zip-tie on the walk-thru gate until you have it all together. It's super sturdy, not going anywhere unless a human falls on it. Even our other 2 dogs (90 and 50 lbs.) won't be able to move it. And it looks nice!

AnelaAnela: The media could not be loaded.  Once we got the measurements and read the first page or two of the instruction manual, we had no problem installing the gate. It was super easy, easier than I even anticipated. Just want to stress the importance of not messing with the tightening once you’ve cut the red zip tie that has a sign that says do not cut until after install. It messes with the way the gate shuts. Make sure it’s secure, cut the red zip tie and don’t mess with it. It works beautifully. I’m so happy with it. Easily worth the money. We’re getting at least 3 more because we have 3 levels of our home and 2 sets of stairs so we’ll have a total of 4 gates. We simply used the pressure based install rather than the screws because our home is newly renovated and we don’t want to mess up the walls and the brand new banisters. It’s insane how sturdy this baby gate is. I’m thoroughly impressed and I absolutely love how nice it looks. 10 out of 10 recommend.

UPDATE:::

This update has everything to do with having to remove the gate and then reinstall it. I genuinely believed once you install the gate (using the pressure mounts only) that it absolutely...

I was immediately contacted by the Company to address my concerns. They provided recommendations for the spindles which worked very well.
They do stand by the recommendation that you use screws to attach the cups.
I used some double sided tape. I thought this might be easier to remove. At this point I haven’t removed the cups … mainly because they are securely stuck to the wall

Bottom line …. The gates seemed secure for the 5 days the 15 month old was in the house. We found the usage of the gates relatively easy. We will continue to use the product, but you still need to watch the small child especially as they get heavier. We found the 15 month old did regularly push on the gates (they held, but the child needs to be closely supervised)

We purchased 2 of these gates ... one for the top of the stairs and one for the bottom ... when our toddler grandchildren visited for a week.
First, you really need wide flat surfaces for each of the pressure points. Our stairs have round spindles and it was difficult to secure the unit to the round spindles; I used zip ties to further secure the unit to the spindle...
