jenew: Smoke from Canadian wildfires reaching my home in the Bronx really brought home to me the reality of small-particle air pollution (and the danger to my lungs) so I realized it was time to get one of these. The Airmega does have a HEPA filter (which is the one that removes small particles, the ones that can get deep in your lungs to do damage), as well as a carbon filter (for odors like smoke, I believe) and a pre-filter (for dust and hair so they don't clog the other filters which you need to change expensively once or twice as year!) It runs quietly, except for the times when I heat the oil in the kitchen in the next room and the scent of it (meaning oil particles are airborne) triggers the air purifier to run itself on high to clean the pollution. For a machine, it's attractive enough. I paid extra to get a white one rather than a black one, to hopefully blend into the walls more.

Brennan Rauert: The Coway Airmega does the job, and by all accounts is good at air filtering.

The good: For being a pretty small unit it has seemingly high filtration capacity, and if that's your main concern (pure ability to filter), then its a good option. On top of that, the replacement filter prices are pretty reasonable.

The bad: I don't know what kind of AQI monitor it has in it, but if its supposed to monitor PM2.5, it's terrible at it. I immediately turned the sensitivity on this all the way up, and it will still kick in well after another air purifier I own. I wouldn't expect it to reliably kick in / turn up past the lowest setting, before 20 ug/m3 PM2.5. I pretty much rely on external AQI sensors and set the speed on this purifier manually. Maybe the AQI monitor in my unit is faulty, not sure. Other than that, the highest setting is really loud, but I suppose that's to be expected.

All-in-all, I think for the price, it's a decent purifier. I have an Alen 45i that I think is better, but that comes in at 2x the price for the purifier and filter replacements, so this purifier is a lot better at filtering air per dollar.

Dan J.: I was skeptical if this thing was going to justify the $200+ tag but I am honestly impressed with how well it works. I just got two kittens in a 1-bedroom apartment so litter smell was a concern plus keeping dander and fur down. I turned on this thing, set it to auto, and it was like night and day. So nice coming home to clean apartment smell instead of kitty pee plus this purifier is going to be awesome for spring/fall allergies.

Many pros, a few cons: it's pricey, it hums pretty loud at the highest auto setting, and the sensor light is a bit on the bright side, and the 3 filters require distinct cleaning/replacement cycles. But I'm overall so pleased that this is a 5-star product for me. I will update this review if anything changes or if it fails to help with my fall allergies, but right now I am super pleased. Fun fact: When Alexa confirmed my pending delivery, she also offered up the extra tip from other users to remember to remove the plastic wrap from the filters (it's also very clearly labeled on the machine itself to do this!) and I thought that was a cool feature that might help some folks.

You get what you pay for in this market and I'm glad I made this...

Page: J'ai profité du PrimeDay pour faire l'acquisition de ce bijou technologique. Les récents incendies et leurs impacts sur la qualité de l'air que nous respirons m'ont incité à prendre des mesures pour protéger mon foyer de ces désagréments (et problèmes respiratoires qu'ils pourraient engendrer).
Voici mon avis après quelques mois d'utilisation:

Mise en place: Super simple ! J'ai lu des commentaires qui avaient du mal à joindre leur appareil au réseau, moi, cela s'est fait tout seul sur mon réseau 2.4Ghz (réseau réputé utilisé pour toute la domotique de la maison car plus de portée).

Fonctionnalités: Le mode 'èco', fantastique et nous fait quasi oublier l'appareil. Le plus de cela c'est que nous pensons quasiment plus à la machine. Cependant, le détecteur parfois s'affole tout seul et se met en route sans risque apparent. Bien sûr, quand on sait qu'on est passé devant 1 minute plus tôt avec un plat odorant et savoureux sorti tout droit de la cuisine, on imagine la raison. Et pour cela, quand la machine se met en route au maximum: ça en jette. Même à l'autre bout de la pièce on sent le courant d'air expulsé. Le pendant du mode éco est...

VictoryVictory: I am very happy with the purchase of this unit. It is very efficient at what it does. Every time I cook, my husband informs me from his spot on the sofa in the living room that he can hear the purifier kick on at the top of the stairs. I like that it can be left off all day and it kicks on when necessary. Recently, we had a power outage for four hours. When the power came back on, I had to manually turn on the Alen air purifier in our bedroom and another one that we've had forever that is in our dining room. When I came upstairs to turn on the Coway, it was already on!!!

Unfortunately, while reading through the reviews, I saw one that raved about the Alen so I bought one of those too. It doesn't hold a candle to the Coway in my opinion, plus is cost twice as much. It has to run all the time as it does not have an eco function. Also, I prefer that the Coway has a light on it that shows when the air is clean, when it is not so clean - at which point the unit kicks on - and when it needs to have the filter replaced. The unit is located right outside the upstairs bathroom which used to smell musty and now there is no smell at all. If I had it to do over again, I would...

Doug Brown: Living in the city somewhat close to a major highway and some major roads comes with smog and pollution. Additionally we had the forest fires in Quebec blowing smoke our way. This unit cleaned up the air in minutes while running on high. It is VERY noisy on high, somewhat noisy on medium and very tolerable on low. After dealing with the smoke issues we just leave it on auto and let it do it's thing but wish there was an app with more control and information like the Levoit 300S

Lisa427Lisa427: I don't want to be one of those giddy-with-first-impressions folks in not testing a product thoroughly for months before posting a review... but this thing makes me wanna do just that. It arrived simple & understated.. and by that I mean, unpacking was easy and it did not take brute force or cleaning stray pieces of styrofoam for 30 minutes after unboxing. It slid out, I removed two pieces of protective styro caps, and unwrapped the shrink wrap. I took off the plastic wrap from the filters (which were already in place so I didn't have to read a book of instructions first to figure out where to put them). Then I simply plugged this sucker in, and it worked on auto right out of the box. It was like unboxing an Apple product -- so intuitive, so seamless, so simple. Kudos to manufacturers. And of course, as first impressions go... it looks good. So I love it even more because it's pretty.

Aesthetics aside, it is also built well... and perfectly sized. I attached photos to show that it's not too tall, nor is it too deep. It is a bit shorter than my nightstand, which is of an average height. It's a bit on the wide-side, but you can position it however you see fit. It does...
