Coway AP-1512HH Mighty Air Purifier: True HEPA & Eco Mode for Cleaner Air

Françoise: Le Coway AP-1512HHW me semblait le plus sérieux dans sa gamme de prix. J'ai un BlueAir Classic 215 depuis plusieurs années et le Coway (son filtre) est semblable. Le prix du filtre est important: c'est ce qui fait tout le travail, comme pour le BlueAir. Les marques concurrentes avec contrôleur à distance ne font pas très sérieux; c'est si facile à contrôler.
Le Coway est livré en mode Auto. Il se met à fonctionner immédiatement, possiblement en haute vitesse selon l'environnement. L'indicateur de pureté peut passer du rouge au violet puis au bleu calme. Un apport de poussière ou de fumée de cuisson peut relancer le ventilateur. Si ça nous ennuie, on peut passer en mode manuel et choisir la vitesse qui nous convient. L'ioniseur n'est pas activé par défaut. Il y a un mode Eco qui met le ventilateur en veille si l'air est pur. Et un mode d'arrêt minuté.
Le manuel est clair et indique ce qu'il faut nettoyer régulièrement (senseur, entrée d'air, corps).
Livré plusieurs jours avant terme malgré le trafic du vendredi fou.

Paul: This is a larger sized air filtration unit. It was comical when it was delivered to my sister as a gift and she saw it. Her r4esponse was wow...it is big haha. Well, it really isn't but she had a small air filtration that gave her nothing but problems and error messages. This unit is quiet, very efficient and fast to clean the air according to her. While it is large, she loves it. The warranty is excellent as well. I wanted her to have a great unit as she has terrible allergies and this air filtration unit by Conway Airmega 200m is perfect.

Adriel: These are just the right size for moving around but big enough to clean a medium to large room. Filter replacements is relatively feasible. They quiet when on the low setting and very loud when 'blasting' on the high setting. But normal use would be mostly the low setting with just occasional spurts at high and not much in the middle one. The middle one, you can definately hear but wouldn't quite call it loud, maybe bit quieter than small room A/C on low.
The auto mode works well and its fairly easy to open to change filters as needed.

Aka: Great air filter. Eco mode is very silent, as long as the air is clean. The handle makes it easy to move around, but it's definitely a bit bulky, and the attractiveness of the design can be subjective. There are also not as many smart features compared to newer smart air filters, like scheduling and app control. However, it does its job well, which is filtering the air. It's especially great if you plan on leaving it on permanently.

LD: I've gone into great depths to research the technical operation of consumer grade HEPA units and settled on this one.

Do not be misled by other units in this price category claiming that they can filter an 800 sqft area, they are misleading you. Check how long it takes for them to filter that. You'll find that they can do 1 air exchange (1 filtration) of such a room in 30 minutes. This Coway unit can do that too. What matters is not the size of the room but the number of air exchanges per hour at that size in order to keep the air clean - with the target being ~5 air exchanges. This Coway unit can do 361 sqft 5x an hour which is the best in this price category.

Additionally, this AirMega unit is a horizontal design, which means that filters are planar as opposed to circular. First, it means the filters will be much cheaper because they're easier to manufacture. Knock-off filters for this unit are totally fine - about 80-90% of the quality of the originals, but at 1/2 of the price. The second benefit is that they are very easy to store. If you're like me and you want to buy something once and forget about it, you'll be pleased to know that you can buy 4 replacement...

Page: J'ai profité du PrimeDay pour faire l'acquisition de ce bijou technologique. Les récents incendies et leurs impacts sur la qualité de l'air que nous respirons m'ont incité à prendre des mesures pour protéger mon foyer de ces désagréments (et problèmes respiratoires qu'ils pourraient engendrer).
Voici mon avis après quelques mois d'utilisation:

Mise en place: Super simple ! J'ai lu des commentaires qui avaient du mal à joindre leur appareil au réseau, moi, cela s'est fait tout seul sur mon réseau 2.4Ghz (réseau réputé utilisé pour toute la domotique de la maison car plus de portée).

Fonctionnalités: Le mode 'èco', fantastique et nous fait quasi oublier l'appareil. Le plus de cela c'est que nous pensons quasiment plus à la machine. Cependant, le détecteur parfois s'affole tout seul et se met en route sans risque apparent. Bien sûr, quand on sait qu'on est passé devant 1 minute plus tôt avec un plat odorant et savoureux sorti tout droit de la cuisine, on imagine la raison. Et pour cela, quand la machine se met en route au maximum: ça en jette. Même à l'autre bout de la pièce on sent le courant d'air expulsé. Le pendant du mode éco est...

The Cre8ive One: I bought a $90 tower purifier which took a long time to clear the air and which was noisier than a jet engine. I lived with it, but when the Canadian wildfire smoke descended upon us in NYC, I loaned it to my downstairs neighbor, who had elderly and special needs family members, and I ordered this as a replacement.

It's more than double the cost of the other unit, but based on the reviews from the New York Times and other review sites, the quality and performance are well worth the investment. So I splurged and got this unit.

While I was waiting for it to arrive, the air pollution got really bad and I had been coughing, eyes were watering and I was forced to wear an N-95 mask at home just to breathe.

When the purifier finally arrived, I turned it on and the sensor light went red to indicate the high level of contamination in the air. I opened the doors of every room of my apartment to let it go to work and after a few minutes at full power, the light turned from red to purple, and about 5 minutes later, it went blue. Lisa427Lisa427: I don't want to be one of those giddy-with-first-impressions folks in not testing a product thoroughly for months before posting a review... but this thing makes me wanna do just that. It arrived simple & understated.. and by that I mean, unpacking was easy and it did not take brute force or cleaning stray pieces of styrofoam for 30 minutes after unboxing. It slid out, I removed two pieces of protective styro caps, and unwrapped the shrink wrap. I took off the plastic wrap from the filters (which were already in place so I didn't have to read a book of instructions first to figure out where to put them). Then I simply plugged this sucker in, and it worked on auto right out of the box. It was like unboxing an Apple product -- so intuitive, so seamless, so simple. Kudos to manufacturers. And of course, as first impressions go... it looks good. So I love it even more because it's pretty.
