COSORI 10-Tray Food Dehydrator: Dry and Preserve Fruits, Vegetables, and More with Stainless Steel Trays

Deb: This dehydrator always gets excellent recommendations in my dehydrator group! When shopping for it, I made a chart of all the pros and cons of the four brands I was interested in. The Cosori wins hands down! The trays are metal which means they're stronger and can go in the dishwasher if necessary. (Haven't needed the dishwasher yet - they're easy to clean) The fruit roll tray that is supplied sits at the very bottom as a drip tray. The temperature can be set in one degree increments as opposed to 9 degree increments in anther that caught my interest. The Cosori can be set to run up to 48 hours. The temps can be precisely set anywhere from 90 to 165. I make lots of beef jerky in it, which I set to 160. It runs quietly, too. The only drawback is the mesh tray - you only get one and doing a lot of herbs, I need six so I bought 6 silicone trays which takes care of that, and also keeps it clean from jerky drips and falling tiny herb pieces. I have to say that the first one I ordered arrived with bad shipping damage. I contacted Amazon and another was immediately shipped out even before I shipping out the damaged one. Thanks Amazon! Sur celui que j'ai obtenu à 195.49$cdn (classic silver) les marques restent vraiment voyantes sur le dessus et sur les bandes d'aluminium de la porte avant aussi. Si le noir avait été disponible au prix payé j'opterais pour lui car il y a aussi du noir sur la porte et les marques se nettoient bien. Avant j'avais acheté Salton VitaPro que j'ai utilisé pendant 2 ans et je peux dire avec conviction que ce n'est rien de comparable!! COSORI fait beaucoup moins de bruit, plus rapide et les grilles sont en acier inoxydable c'est une grande différence. Salton: les grilles en plastiques se brisaient facilement et impossible de les coller. Avec les grilles de COSORI j'ai acheté des feuilles de déshydratation alimentaire en silicone pour empêcher de coller et c'est un charme. Avoir su j'aurais changé mon déshydrateur bien avant! Je vous le recommande vivement.

Anon: I don't normally prepare reviews until I have mileage with a product, but this time, I will. The dryer arrived promptly, and contrary to a few other reviews, it was very well packed, double boxed, with styrofoam protectors plus hard plastic corner protectors, and arrived in perfect condition. I would rate the packing and shipping as perfect.

I have now run the dryer through its initial cleaning sequence, and it seems to work perfectly. The machine is in my opinion very well designed. The racks appear well made, and they slide on metal guides in the dryer, not plastic. The entire inside of the dryer is metal, the only plastic on the unit is the electronic display, and the side hand holds for lifting. The fan is plainly audible, but not annoyingly loud. I doubt that we will elect to run it downstairs rather than in the kitchen, but the jury is out on that.

The recipe book is excellent, well written, and has all manner of recipes and information. There are over twenty recipes for jerky, for example.

I will update this after we run some food through it, but my initial impression is that the machine is a far better design than the Excalibur unit that I recently...

darlene recorddarlene record: This is one great little dehydrator!! My ex calibers were great but wore out after 15 years!! They lasted long but I had to keep replacing trays! These Cosori trays are metal which makes them much more durable and the best most amazing thing about my Cosori dehydrator is that it is soo quiet you don’t even know it’s running in your room! The Excalibur’s were sooo noisy you had to put them in annother room! And I’m drying cayennes at low temperature & I can’t even smell them!! My sinuses are not irritated from the heat of them!! Awesome unit—small & portable but 6 whole trays on this unit—this is probably my 5th set of drying these peppers & it dried them completely and evenly—no hot spots or uneven drying! Takes about a week but the low heat retains all the flavor and healthy components of the plant! Love this machine!!!

Heather: So I purchased this unit as a gift to my mom who was interested in dehydrating produce for storage and trying her hand at jerky. I ended up being the first to use it after finding a good gallon size bag of Morels behind the house. Let me tell you, darn this thing is pretty awesome!

Use- Very basic. I didn't need to review the guide. Unit wasn't hot to touch. Very easy to remove and install trays/screens. Didn't find myself needing to circulate trays like the cheap round ones I'm familiar with, but I have not tried jerky on this unit yet so that might still be a necessity. I did flip my mushrooms over, but that was more due to routine than need. I think they would have dried fine had I not.

Cleaning-My son is an avid hunter who jerks a good portion of his kills and uses the cheap round dehydrators for that purpose. Having had to clean those trays, that clean up is just awful! The trays/screens are very easy to install and remove for cleaning on this unit. After removing trays, the inside of the unit is a very easy wipe down.

Size- This is a large machine. That has it's pros and cons. Great for getting your hands in for cleaning and loading contents, but it also...
