chris lewis: This product works beautifully. Easy on the hands and the pointed end makes it easy to access and cut individual small stems in a cluster. The only reason for the 4 starts instead of 5 is that mechanism to lock the blades in a closed position requires two hands to fiddle with the strap instead of a one handed single motion to engage a mechanical lever by thumb.

Silvester Percival: This is a great pair of snippers that fills an important niche in anyone's collection of gardening tools. In case you haven't concluded already from photos and descriptions, this is a very small precision snipper that's intended for light-duty work. I personally bought it and use it for dead-heading roses. The small tips make it easily fit into tight spaces, and it's lightweight enough that it's super easy to operate for long periods of time without hand fatigue. It would also be great for light vines, delicate flowers, and other such things. The blades are very sharp. I would describe the heft of the blades as falling somewhere between a hair-cutting scissor and an average pair of paper scissors: they are light, but not too light. At the same time, the joints and parts are pretty strong. The blades are spring-loaded with the spring on the handle, meaning the default position is open, unless you hold the handles closed with the little black strap. I find this works fine. They are nice and small and fit easily in the pockets.

I still recommend a traditional pruner for heavier tasks (like pruning rose canes or anything approaching the thickness of a finger), but for...
