I love how Nordic axe styles have that "beard" buy wish they could head more blade so you can stab with the ace it you truly had to.
It's called a "war" axe and the "TRENCH" Axe looks way more like its for fighting with the dual edged dagger on tbe back while mine has a pick instead of a dagger but ultimately just as deadly
It's okay for 2" diameter pieces of wood but you won't be chopping wood for the fireplace that's for sure.
I love the modern handle and just 2 screws needed if it breaks plus to replace it; it is one 3rd to one 4th the cost of an oak handle.
It is far lighter than my old boy scouts branded 1 piece of metal hatchet and tbe handle was half the size but metal.
Obvious which one i'd pick to carry camping, the lighter one despite its longer handle. It's crazy how much less weight there is.

Dave: It came, out of the box, 'much sharper' than I imagined it would and well oiled. Overall, it seems to be well-made, although, I would prefer a hickory handle.
So far it has worked well and I haven't been easy on it. The edge chipped somewhat, but that is not due to a bad temper on the blade edge. I'll take the blame as most 'chipping' on blade edges comes back to the user making a bad strike or hitting something unexpectedly.
1055 is a good steel to use on a tool such as this as it can take abuse, hold a fairly decent for chopping and is easy to sharpen in a 'field environment'. The sheath does its job.
If you buy a tool, made out of a straight carbon steel, 1045-1095, be prepared to care for it by cleaning and oiling. Cleaning should be done on any edged tool as soon as you can after use, if only to inspect it for damage and sharpen, if needed.

Rogelio: Tenía un pequeño rasguño en el mango, fuera de eso es un excelente artículo, resistente y trae un protector para el filo

Mark: This thing is a beast. I am very impressed with this axe. Has a real hatchet feel to it, can tell its gonna be a great camp and kindling maker lol. Good weight for a working axe, and should do the job when the zombies come 😂👍. I haven't tried throwing it, (which is usually where you get negative reviews on tomahawks and tactical hatchets) but I didn't buy for throwing, more for a camp/hiking/firepit furnace tool. Only negative is there was a minor very thin scratch on the handle that disappeared with a little quick sanding with sandpaper, planning on tapping the handle with hockey tape and adding a piece of paracord as a lanyard as a finishing touch, was also impressed with the sharpness,

Megalo_Kefali: Excellent weight and feel. The head cuts paper out of the box. Excellent sheath. I had to tighten the two bolts on the sheath because they were rattling. I need to Loc-tite them in place.

Amazon Customer: Arrived surprisingly sharp- you can tell this axe was made to work. Plastic sheath is very nice and very stable - also I actually like that I can change out the handle eventually and keep the blade. Great axe.

R. K. Anderson: Good blade and pike end, blade sharp and covered in thick oil to prevent rust. Nice cover, sturdy handle. One fault or improvement I would suggest is to provide a rougher handle texture, and maybe a rawhide lanyard, though I can remedy that myself most easily. Definitely a beast of a tool. Excellent value.
