Chamberlain B2405 Smart myQ Garage Door Opener: Ultra Quiet, Strong Belt Drive, Wireless Keypad Included for Smartphone Control

Greg K.: I had to replace an older screw-drive garage door opener. This unit took me about 2 hours in total to install by myself. Since my old opener had a non-typical mount, I had to also buy an angle bracket kit to install this.

Physical installation was straight forward. Once plugged in, I did have to call tech support to get the unit to work, as I apparently missed a step during setup. Before this unit will even attempt to open or close your door, you MUST perform a one-time setup of the door positioning. Pay close attention to the setup instructions!

This opener has all the features most people will need:
1) Quiet operation
2) Wifi connectivity - allowing operation from your smart phone. This is very nice as you can check the open or closed status by looking at the app incase you can't remember if you forgot to close it!
3) Standard safety features (auto-reverse, obstacle sensors)

There is a higher end version that includes a camera, but I already had a blink system, so this was perfect.

Joe: I called Chamberlain's 800 #. They are incredibly helpful, but since I bought two opens for each of my garage doors they should sound identical. Not these machines. One motor is noisier than the other. When I called Chamberlain said they would send me a new motor which I have to install on my time after I paid a contractor to put it up so I can save time and not mess with this myself the way I did 12 years ago. One unit was built in January 2023 and the other in March 2023. They apologized but did not understand why Amazon had old merchandise. Hmmm? That doesn't explain a bad motor straight from the factory. Either way, disappointed that I have to waste more time on this project after killing one day already. Once up they are functioning well. The rep helped me set up the app which is a great feature. just be prepared to climb up and down your ladder a few times to do so.

tomsos: This review is more along the lines of an installation note rather than a quality review.

My house was built in 2015. I have three 8' garage doors each originally powered by Chamberlain LiftMaster Security+, Model 3280 1/2HP Garage Door Opener. A few years ago the computer module failed in one of the openers and I was able to buy a replacement module to restore the operation. Early this year, a second opener failed with the same problem; unfortunately replacement computer modules are no longer available for this unit and I was forced to buy a completely new opener.

The new unit I chose is a Chamberlain B2405 Quiet Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener. This unit comes packaged with a rail suitable for a 6' door necessitating the purchase of a separate package with an 8' rail.

Upon installation of the new door opener, I found that the old rail was in every way compatible with the new opener and coupled flawlessly to it. Further the old rail is a single piece iron T rail and much sturdier than the multi-section rail that came with the new unit. Also, the old belt was in perfect shape so I continued to use it. The net result was that I no longer needed the separate package...

example: Honestly, I am beyond thrilled with this opener. I was able to find an HONEST person to install it that did not want to overcharge me to tighten the springs, tell me they needed replacing, (they are only 9 months old) or tell me I needed a 'tune-up' Keep quiet and listen to your installer. This way you can weed out the ones trying to rip you off.

The opener is QUIET. I transitioned from a louder chain driven opener. I love that I have more options, and they work too. Dogs never bark at the opener anymore. It's too quiet I suppose so they don't notice it. Because they no longer bark, I am no longer yelling at them to stop barking. The house is definitely more peaceful. The keypad does not have the same issue when hitting the * or # key that you have to reprogram it like their click2 version does. I love that this has a battery backup for when the summer storms are here and we get power outages. I wish Chamberlain had added Alexa to this, but there are workarounds you can find online if you need this to work with Alexa. If there are any issues with this, I will update. For some reason, installers like to install Chamberlain over Genie from what they have said.

Gabriela: Miren yo tengo esto que se llama el TOC de acordarme si cerré o no la cochera, entonces gracias a este maravilloso aparato y su app, nada más reviso si está cerrada y ya… puedo respirar!

No sabía que la iba a necesitar tanto, es súper silenciosa, muy inteligente porque si está abierta más de 10 min y no estás en la casa, se cierra sola por seguridad.

Se conecta al wifi, la puedo abrir desde donde esté, en cualquier parte de la ciudad y lo que más me gusta es que la app me avisa con notificación si alguien la abrió o cerró. Esto fue lo más importante porque a veces salgo de la ciudad.

La recomiendo mucho!!

Emilesp: Muy silencioso, recomendado.

Lo único malo que he notado hasta el momento es que los controles tienen interferencia dependiendo donde los pongas en el carro.

Por ejemplo, poniéndo el control en el visor, al salir de la cochera no se lograba cerrar la puerta. Puse el control en el panel del carro y ahora ya funciona sin problemas.

Eder Leos: Creo que para ser de Banda es genial que no hace tanto ruido. Solo les dejo un consejo yo pague porque me hicieran la instalación y pésimo servicio, fíjense muy bien con quien instalan y que coloquen las piezas bien porque son muy delicados, mi polea final la pusieron al revés y a la 2 semana me trono, tuve que rotar todo, remplazar la pieza y no hay refacciones casi de portones con Banda plástica
