I read a book by Catherine Ryan Hyde about three weeks ago and since have devoured nine more. Her writing brings you right in to the story line and then its so hard to put down. Each of her books are totally different but each brings you in to want to no more about the people in these stories and you find yourself hoping all ends well. You will not be disappointed with this book Worthy or any other of her books

Karen: It is a lovely story about loss, then recovery for a young boy who transforms into a simple young man and finds peace with the woman who loved his father. And it’s a dog, Worthy, who brings them together. Beautifully written. Would recommend this book to anyone.

Kindle Customer: The book was well written and enjoyable, it was heartwarming and empathetic without being too unrealistic. The characters were good hearted people and the young boy/man was an interesting and moving character.

Linda Pfeiffer: The book begins when a young widower, Aaron, takes his son, Buddy, only four years old, and their dog, across a railroad bridge, to get to the other side where, Virginia, the woman he loves, is working in a diner. The trouble is Aaron hasn't even taken Virginia out yet, but little does he know how much she wants him to ask her out as she too has fallen for him. At this point, you may think you have mistakenly picked up a romance novel, but you would be wrong. I don't want to spoil it for any potential readers, so I will leave it at that. The book skips ahead by nearly twenty years and the story picks up with Virginia, who now owns the diner with her best friend Fern. She has never married or had children and is now engaged to a lazy, nasty man, Lloyd. A man who is even jealous of Ginnie's dog. That is when this story explodes with what seems to be a new storyline. I hope I have piqued your interest because, the next part of the book will bring the past to light, the present to change and the future to expect. I loved it all and congratulate Catherine Ryan Hyde on yet another big winner. She can pull your heart out and then replace it and you will thank her.

OregonAction: This book was not a happy book. Accidents happen. People die. BUT it mirrors life more than a lot of novels. And, yes, the ending is satisfying to this reader.

Avid Reader: Great dialogue from well flushed out characters. Makes you step back and think about what it is that makes a real home - the people, the connection of community and the love.
