This review is for the 3.5KW 120v TE04 version. The first unit I ordered from Amazon was dead on arrival. It would power up and make a clicky noise when putting water through it, but zero temperature change. Luckily returns are easier.
I got a second unit from another vendor and it "worked." These are the results I got with water starting at 66 degrees vs. the spec.
0.5 GPM flow: 96 degrees / + 30 degrees (vs. spec of +44)
1.0 GPM flow: 86 degrees / + 20 degrees (vs. spec of +22)
1.5 GPM flow: 75 degrees / +9 degrees (vs. spec of +15)
It takes abut 30-60 seconds to get the water to maximum temperature.
A few tips:
- I wired this up to a TT-30P plug which works fine in a 30-amp RV plug like you might find in a campground.
- You can put a Camco water pressure regulator in-line to prevent exceeding the inlet pressure.
- I used a Niagra conservation low flow showerhead which has 0.5/1.0/1.5 GPM options with this to test it out.
- Make sure to use some plumbing tape on the threads to prevent leaks.
- The inlets are 0.5". You can easily get an adapter for a 0.75" garden hose at any hardware store.

Easy to install, connect and set up. The down side is that it doesn't get water real hot. It is sensitive to the temperature of the water coming into it. Also, the higher the volume, the cooler the water. That being said, by using only the hot water and adjusting the flow down to a workable level, it heats fine. Works for me!

Before waited about a 2-3 minutes for water just to get warm. Now have 105F water in about 15-45 seconds depending on last usage. First thing in the morning takes longer to heat up. Does not work like a electric hot water heater keeping water a set temp all the time, kicks on when you turn on the water. I connected to hot water line so unit doesn't have to work as hard for heavy usage. Take the instructions with you to the bathroom the next time you need to take a crap, that is about all they are good for. Refer the picture on Amazon for wiring diagram.
