My controller works fine until it randomly decides to disconnect in a rather dramatic fashion, as it temporarily shuts down everything else connected to a USB port. The controller reconnects fine, but I can't actually use it. Restarting results in a guaranteed blue screen due to a driver error, which I verified was because of the Bluetooth adapter in WinDbg.
Using the provided driver software does nothing to help the situation, as it either stalls indefinitely during driver repair. When it does beat the odds and work, it still doesn't do anything to repair the drivers, since I get the same process again, and have to do the same song and dance to restart my PC.
Would not recommend, at all.

Jill Dayton:
I bought this adapter specifically to use my Beat headphones with my PC (Windows 8). When I plugged in the adapter, it was recognized right away and installed itself, no need for the CD that came with it. Unfortunately, it did not recognize my headphones right away but a later attempt, I was able to install them. A couple issues came my way that I saw in other reviews, but I was able to fix all of them so far!
1. Headphones connected but wouldn't play.
I opened my sound settings and found my Beats as connected and the test tone came through. Setting them as default allowed me to listen to my music.
2. Sound was absolutely tinny and terrible.
I was horrified at first because, much like other reviews stated, the sound was awful. Here's the fix!
Control Panel” → “Hardware and Sound” → “Devices and Printers”. Select your device and open “Properties”, then go to the “Services” tab and uncheck “Handsfree Telephony”
Instantly cleared up my sound. (I did have to go back into sound and set my headphones as default one more time)
Hope these solutions help! For someone who just wants to jam on their PC or laptop,...

Paul Banta: Worked flawlessly on Windows 10, but due to a failed HDD I had to re-install Windows 7 and W7 does not support this device properly. I have the disk, but for now decided not to use it and avoid any possible issues using it with Win7. I'll keep it if I decide to upgrade or get a newer PC going forward. While I used it, it worked well with my bluetooth headphones (though it disables the PC output when their used, but restores it when it's closed). I didn't rate tech support because I didn't use it--didn't need to; the sound quality is good but only as good as the headphones you are using and the audio board in your PC (just slightly "tinny" and slightly less bass vs. other devices).

This device works, and works well. You just plug it into a USB jack, let Windows detect and install the device driver, and seconds later you're in business. It comes with a device driver disc, but you won't need it if you have an Internet connection.
I bought this for my brand-new system, with 8th generation "Coffee Lake" processor and 370 chipset. I had ordered another brand of Bluetooth adapter (the Plugable brand) but had numerous problems with it, from failure to detect Bluetooth devices (!) to breaking iTunes to slowing down my entire system. I followed the same steps to install this adapter and the experience was pain-free. Windows automatically recognized the device and installed software, then, when I went into the Bluetooth dialog in System settings it quickly detected my Bluetooth headphones, paired with them without a hitch, and from that time I have been enjoying good quality sound wirelessly.
I generally have good experiences with this company's products, and this continues that pattern. I recommend this device for anyone running Windows 10.

Nick B: This is for an older Vista laptop, for use with a mouse and speakers. Install was boring.....It just installed with no problems. It's not a fast install, so be patient. It works just fine. It uses Widcomm software and drivers. They have been around since the very early days of Bluetooth. It is not the latest version of Bluetooth (4.0), so read up before you buy, but for my application it's perfect!
