Mario MontemayorMario Montemayor: The tap water had a peculiar taste, and this Brita helped neutralize those flavors. Now we enjoy drinking water and use it quite a bit. We highly recommend it!

Maansi: Love the size of the filter since it perfectly works for a family for 3.
However, the top shelf only can contain few glasses of water and will need to wait until it gets filtered and gets transferred to the bottom part. Will need to refill the top part again and again due to slower filtering process in order to fill up entire pitcher.
Moreover, a reminder to change filter would be great to have.
Nonetheless, it does its job of filtering very well.

☮ S.Trasny: A bonus for us when we bought our mountain home was that it came with free water from a deep well. It is spring fed and naturally filtered through an underground rock aquifer. It comes out sparkling clear, crisp and cold with a slight metallic taste.

Straight from the tap, the water's metallic taste was barely noticeable but not so when used to prepare beverages. The metallic taste was magnified in cold tea and koolaid. Hot coffee tasted bitter and soups and stocks had a distinct aftertaste.

When we lived in the city we used tap water only for cooking. We had a  Brita On Tap Faucet Water Filter System, White  to alleviate concerns with the sometimes smelly water. Back then we bought bottled water to drink and use in coffee, tea, etc.

When we moved, buying bottled water seemed wasteful when we had a spring fed well. I tried our On Tap system and found it filtered out the dissolved minerals from the aquifer which eliminated the metallic taste.

After an On Tap filter has been in use for a while, solids accumulate and the flow slows down. It was sometimes annoying having to wait to fill up pitchers, teapots, etc. We purchased a  Brita 35530...

Jonathan B. Smith: No, the title of this review isn't warning you about making kool-aid in a water purifier. Rather to tell the truth about carbon/charcoal filters. They don't go bad. I've been using this filter for 9 months now filling it up three times a day, but more to the point, I used to work with a large water filtration team in charge of cleaning up an EPA superfund site. They had great big tanks full of sand and carbon to filter out a bunch of little nasties that you and your tap water can't even imagine. When the flow was restricted they'd just shoot the water back the other way for a bit and then return to normal operation. The carbon (little black sand) in your filter does not go bad, no matter what the manufacturers tell you. That's how they make their money, by selling you a plastic cup filled with black sand every couple of months. The filter, over a very long period of time, may become clogged. If that happens, take it out, run water over it, turn it upside down, bang it on the counter, I don't care. Whatever you do, buy another filter only as a last resort.

Let me repeat this. These filtration people are selling you a cheap plastic tub with sand in the top and a nozzle on the...
