Blueair 411 Auto Air Purifier - 10.2" x 10.2" x 20.5" - White

Kristin: Love how light weight this product is and the clean simple design. Very simple and easy to use. Tap lightly in the center of the circular button. Just had to plug it in and turn it on. That's it. Sleep mode is super super quiet--at first I wasn't even sure if it was still on. Everyday mode and other mode is louder--but still fairly quiet--like "white noise". Air feels cleaner somehow. I purchased this because my friend has two of these and really liked them. It arrived earlier than expected which was nice.

Josephine: I have this in my bedroom. I was surprised at how small and light it is but it seems to do the job. I use it as white noise on a higher speed at night to block out the street sounds that were interfering with my sleep. Two uses and one machine. I'm happy.

George in Canada: This air purifier improved air quality discernably in our 2-bedroom condo during the recent choking wildfire smoke. Glad we bought it. Very quiet in night mode and acceptable during higher settings. The HEPA filters can be replaced easily however they are still okay after about 100 hours of use in the medium speed setting and with closed windows. The touch controls are neatly integrated and unobtrusive however we would prefer simpler ergonomic buttons or nobs located on the side because it is not easy to find the right setting without numerals or idiot dots. Please redesign the controls to earn 5 stars.

Kate S: We live in a condo with a small dog and very young kids who are crawling/early walkers. My husband is also an allergy-sufferer. I was finding it impossible to keep up with vacuuming and sweeping all the time with the dander and miscellaneous build up all over the house. We also had new rugs installed that took forever to de-shed, adding to the problem.

We've been so happy with the filter as I've seen a dramatic decrease in dust bunnies, and the house smells clean- like paper or something very neutral.

It is somewhat large, but it's the tradeoff we are making for an easier time keeping the house a cleaner, healthier place for my kids. I'd definitely consider another purchase down the road and consider buying one for our family that has more pets.

K: I had used Honeywell air purifiers for years. Although they worked very well, they were extremely loud to a point that I rarely ran the highest level. I decided to shop for a new brand and was impressed by the many positive reviews on the BLUEAIR purifiers. I bought the 511 model because it was less than $100, very cheap when comparing to the Honeywell ones.

I have to say though the operation of the 511 is not very intuitive. I couldn't figure out how to switch mode at first after playing with it for 10 minutes. I finally gave up and read the manual. Another issue I noticed is the power button is extremely sensitive. Many times I thought it was off only found out it was running hours later. It is possible my cat (yes, my four-legged friend) turned it on inadvertently when he was sitting on it. Or I somehow touched the power button by accident when moving it.

At any rate I do like the quietness of the 511 especially when running in the lower speeds. I ended up buying another one for a different room.

Gerry: Bought one of these in May 2023. Ended up buying another one for downstairs in August 2023. These have definitely helped the air quality throughout the house and it seems that they are also helping out the furnace too. The filter was clean when the technician came to service the furnace and stared that it didn't need replaced yet, when previously I was replacing them every month. Might just be a coincidence but if not it's an excellent additional bonus. Also the units are both very quiet and effective. Would recommend purchasing this, especially if it goes on sale like it did, again.

Run: Ce purificateur est de conception simple et très efficace. Je le laisse fonctionner à bas régime 24/24 mais ce que j'apprécie le plus , c'est qu'il opère de façon automatique. Dès qu'il détecte un poluant il se met à accélérer sa ventilation et la couleur de la petite fenêtre passe du rouge à l'orange et au bleu indiquant que l'air ambiant est à nouveau sain. Il utilise des filtres hepa qui sont très efficaces. Ne pas hésiter à acheter ce modèle à moins de vouloir purifier l'air dans une petite pièce de la maison et opter pour un modèle plus petit.. Le filtre extérieur est lavable et accessible de différentes couleurs.

3.5 stars. I am not sure if the sensor in mine is bad or this is just how it works. In the month I've had this on in automatic mode, it has never turned the fan up on it's own. It is in my office where I spend a lot of time. The auto-mode runs the fan at an extremely low speed - enough to constantly be filtering air. It certainly isn't enough to push air throughout the room at that speed. It seems like just enough pressure to overcome the filter and entice the flowing room air through. It is mostly a passive mode -- it seem to rely on other air flows in the house such as the central air. Which is fine, if that is how it is supposed to work.

So I put the 411-auto right next to a high-end air purifier in my main room during a week that the air quality was 150-200 AQI. The other purifier has 3 sensors and ramps up the fan when I cook something or open a window when the air quality is bad. Therefore, it isn't a fully fair comparison, but the 411 should ramp up when I open the windows in 150 AQI. It did NOT.

Otherwise, I like the design: It is a great way to assemble for minimal materials a still fulfill the requirements. I also like how the HEPA...

Angie C.Angie C.: The media could not be loaded.  This is now our 2nd Blue air purifier. I originally bought the smaller Blue 411+ for our bedroom and I was very impressed with how having that in our bedroom improved my lifelong allergies that I take a daily pill for. Prior to getting the smaller 411+ I would very often wake up with a stuffed nose. Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled "different". Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room. This is also where our dogs (golden retriever and black lab) spend most of their time with us when they are inside. And having these 2 dogs and allergies doesn't make life super easy as cleaning goes. I have to vacuum daily or every other day (minimum) and will at times pull up what looks like a small dog inside my vacuum canister. Especially, when my golden is blowing her coat.
