Chris J. Palmtag: This is a great knife, good metal and design. If I need to stab someone in a prison style this would be the knife to use, only wish they offered a black sheath option but overall definitely worth the purchase.

MrG: already sharp out of box testing it without touch up...after testing as such and a few more smoothening finishes with smooth & ultra high grit (just a few extra strokes here and there not much time and effort at all..), quickly achieved that proverbial 'razor sharp' on 2nd round testing. At approx. 5.5 blade length, and kind of odd shape, if you are able and willing to get past that and don't need a full size slicer or even yanagiba preferring to double up strokes to compensate much bigger size fish other food surface areas, even at 5.5 bladelength, this likely more than enough for most ..nothing fancy in terms of materials including steel used, but if sharpness and functionality is of topmost priority, this delivers...Good discounts thrown in that helps...like the simple handle feel, weight at the back and balance...glad with overall purchase outcome

Amazon Customer: This is a new shape for me. I usually use curved flexible fillet knives. The 3mm thick blade is quite stiff for a fillet knife. The pointy tip and razor sharp edge zipped through the weakfish we caught like a knife going through warm butter. I didn't try to de-skin the fillets with this knife due to the large size of the fish and the stiffness of the blade. Next I sliced and diced a variety of fruits and veggies for a salsa (fish tacos tonight)! The wood handle is shaped well for a good hold while cutting slippery foods. The Knife Sheath is a PU leather and it holds the knife snugly enough for easy hiking. At this price the knife/sheath is a bargain!
