Wine Lover: I have an older Dell desktop still running with Windows 7. The built in LAN connection failed and I didn't want to spend the time or money to buy and install a new LAN card for the computer so I searched for an USB Ethernet adapter. I chose the Benfei as many reviews indicated it performed well and was easy to install. It was a good choice, the build quality is excellent, it was packaged in an Apple like box. The adapter is plug & play for Windows 8 and above, but comes with a mini CD loaded with RealteK ethernet drivers. One Con is there are no instructions included, my computer has a DVD/CD drive so I searched the CD and found the Windows 7 driver. Great product, great value, I fully recommend it.

Ryka: Der Adapter macht materialwertig einen hochwertigen Eindruck, für den Preis enorm. Ich benötige ihn für einen Mac mit Intel Prozessor. Erwähne das deswegen weil auf der kleinen CD die beiliegt (ja richtig gelesen, da liegt noch eine kleine Treiber CD bei wie vor 20 Jahren üblich) auch nur ein Mac Treiber für Geräte mit Intel Prozessoren beiliegt. Installiert man den klappt es auf Anhieb. Deswegen auch 5 Sterne. Habe dann interessenhalber mal die Installation dieses Treibers auf einem Mac mit M2 Prozessor probiert. Es kam keine Fehlermeldung, es funktioniert nicht. Man konnte aber nach einigem Suchen nachlesen dass es nur ein Treiber für einen Mac auf Intel Basis war. Ich weiss nicht ob es den Treiber überhaupt für die M-Prozessoren gibt, habe das dann auch nicht weiter verfolgt weil ich ihn für diesen Zwecke nicht brauche.
Die neuen Macs gibt es ja schon eine Weile und diese haben und werden wohl auch keinen Ethernetanschluss mehr haben sodass man immer einen Hub benötigen würde.

T.M.: Résultat parfait ! 1000Mbps atteint. Joli, solide, cable dans une super matière résistante.
Bon c'est quand même cher je trouve.
En revanche, ce n'est pas noté dans l'annonce mais il faut installer un pilote à télécharger gratuitement sur le site du fabricant. C'est hyper simple mais rapide mais il faut le savoir !

The latest generation of Dell laptops that we use have no ethernet ports, only USB-A and USB-C. I needed a way to hardwire these laptops to our LAN in order to wipe and reimage the ones that get returned to us via PXE boot over the network. J.E.: Este adaptador lo compré para poder conectar mi portatil a la red fija del router ya que mi HP Pavillion con windows 11 solo tiene dos entradas USB. Con windows 10/11 no hay que hacer absolutamente nada, es conectar el adaptador a la entrada usb del portatil e instala automaticamente los drivers en el portatil por lo que el disquette que trae sobra y no sirve para nada, una vez conectado el adaptador se puede comprobar que tienes instados los drivers automaticamente si luego entras en el "administrador de dispositivos" y alli aparecera dentro de la familia de adaptadores de Red con el nombre "Realtek USB GbE family Controller".
Una vez conectado el adaptador al portatil aparentemente no se enciende ninguna de las dos luces (amarilla y verde) del adaptador, parece que no funciona pero una vez que conectas el cable de red que a su vez esta conectado al router se encienden los dos led de estado del adaptador (naranja= conexion, verde=transmision de datos) y funciona perfectamente desconectado del portatil automaticamente la conexion wifi y autoconectando la conexion fija por cable (se ve porque en el icono inferior derecho de la pantalla pasa del wifi al icono de red...
