A. Kin: I purchased this popular brand product to treat my bloating and gas symptoms, not knowing exactly what the root cause was. After extensive research (my doctor was not knowledgeable in this area and was not helpful) I found I have symptoms matching bacterial overgrowth in my small intestines. I was experiencing embarrasing especially foul-smelling gas, and stools which are stickier possibly due to mucous (look up bacterial overgrowth). In addition, I was ingesting an ingredient that is a leading cause of the issue: artificial sweeteners.
Tracing back my Amazon purchases to when I first exhibited the symptoms I found I was purchasing and consuming too many candies and gum that used artificial sweeteners. That was the best explanation for my stomach troubles as I'm relatively heathy, eating well and exercising.
I'm giving this a 1-start because of its choice of ingredients: it uses mannitol, which is an artificial sweetener and a prime cause for causing bad balance in gut flora. There are other digestive enzyme products which do not use any artificial ingredients at all so there are options. Taking Beano will be counterproductive as it does relieve the symptoms but will prolong...
