sushikeeper - Kai: Ich habe den Futterautomat zu einem Spottpreis als Warehouse Deal gekauft und echt nicht viel erwartet.
Als er geliefert wurde, war der erste Eindruck typisch billige Chinaware aber das täuscht. Die Einstellung der Uhrzeit und Fütterungszeiten war mit der Anleitung kinderleicht und schnell erledigt. Er läuft jetzt mehrere Wochen und ist nach wie vor zuverlässig. Einzig die Einstellung der gewünschten Futtermenge mit dem Schieberegler ist, je nach Futter, nicht ganz so leicht aber bei der Fütterung mit Automat sollte man sowieso eher zu wenig als zu viel Futter geben. Daher kann man sich langsam an die richtige Einstellung herantasten.
Wenn ich mir eine Verbesserung aussuchen könnte, würde ich mir einen größeren Vorratsbehälter wünschen, damit man ihn nicht so häufig nachfüllen muss.

Ricardo Freire: O produto funciona bem, o único porém é uma certa dificuldade em configurar a quantidade de ração por giro. Uso ração em flocos, e sai pouca quantidade, do mínimo ao máximo do regulador. Felizmente, para meu aquário com 10 peixinhos, deixo a abertura no máximo, e com 2 giros por ciclo 4x ao dia, consigo alimentar adequadamente os peixes.

Não tive problema de umedecimento da ração até agora (10 dias de uso).

Hawaii Shopper: First, let's not put the expectation up too high as this item is not expensive. It does everything well as promised. The quality of the plastic may seem fragile but I like everything about it. Understanding the instructions is a little challenging but not impossible to figure out. There's some negative comments regarding the food getting stuck or damp. I'd like to share that for my aquarium, the flip open door would touch the water on the feeding cycle as it spun. Know that this would cause the food to get damp, I simply raised the feeder up enough on the aquarium mount enough so the door doesn't touch anymore. You could also lower the water level in your aquarium too if you'd like, but I did not want to deal with the mess so I raised the feeder instead.

Depending on where you are putting the feeder, you will need to plan for enough space so that nothing blocks the feeder and prevent it from optimal operation.

Heidi: At first I loved this feeder, then the problems began. After 1 week of use, the food door no longer opens and the food in the feeder is wet and clumped together. I will now need to go into school to feed the fish during winter break. A great disappointment.
The feeder is compact and fits the 10 gallon aquarium lid, but needs frequent maintainence. When water sloashed on the feeder it will not work, not an advantage in a product designed for an aquarium.
The feeder is easy to program and will feed small to large amounts of food from 1 to 4 times per day.

Amazon Customer: This inexpensive automatic feeder has been working very well for the past 2 months. I originally purchased just to use during vacation but now realize it is very useful for everyday feeding. I can now concentrate on other things like watching my fish and of course keeping their tank spotless.

The feeder uses a rotating wheel and gravity to open a door and allow food to drop from the food storage area. Nothing magical here, but I can imagine the engineers put some good amount of thought into how this would work.

PROS:
- Ability to feed multiple times a day. I have it set for 7 AM and 7 PM.
- Ability to drop food for two rotations. The reason this is important is because the first rotation generally has less food output because the food will sometimes stick and so the first rotation is used to "break up" any stuck food. Then the second rotation gives more food. This could also be seen as a con, but I think the engineers did a good job at realizing this could be an issue and they give you this as an option.
- Feeding amount is adjustable. There is a little sliding door that controls the amount of food that is dispensed. It is easy to slide, you just have to...

bitterpete: The feeder itself works fine. Set up was relatively easy, although not necessarily intuitive, the instructions were easy enough to follow. Been using the feeder regularly for a couple of months now and haven't had any issues. Food delivery occurs on time and amount is consistent. Overall construction however is a lightly junky. I guess for the price that is to be expected. I wish that there was an easier way to fill the feeder. You need to remove the entire canister, then take the clear part off of the base. I had a hard time getting it off and ended up busting off one of the tabs that holds the two pieces together. I was able to secure it well enough to be able to keep using. Still, it seems like that design is a little lacking.

But, the crew is still getting fed, so I guess that is all that matters. At least with the clock I trust the timing of this one better than my old twice a day feeder.

Brett: I had looked at several automatic feeders and read many reviews before buying this one. I was a little skeptical based on some of the reviews. After getting this feeder and setting it up, (it's been about 1 week) I am so far very pleased. The feeder works great. I am using it with flake food. I found that if you break up the big flakes when filling it, the amount dispensed is a lot more consistent. I don't know how it would work for pellets . Using the manual feed button, I got the amount dispensed to what I wanted. I did this over a plate on the counter. The only concern I have is if over time the flakes will absorb moisture and clog up the feeder. So far no. The feeder sits about 3-4 inches above the tank so I don't know if moisture will be an issue. If you are looking for a low priced feeder for small to medium fish, I would not hesitate to buy this one. It's light weight and small and easy to set up. With the flakes crushed, I'd say it gives me about 2-3 weeks worth of feeding. I only feed my fish once a day, the feeder can be programmed for up to 3 feedings and there is the manual button to feed anytime.
