Greg: Can’t be more happy after two previous purchases which were completely inaccurate. The Auto Meter 2160 has a nice good readable display which I like a lot, it’s accurate and easy to use. The Veteran: This is a precision instrument. It's very well made, with chrome-plated steel parts, a stainless steel casing for the rubber hose, and a rubber covering for the gauge itself to protect it against bumps. The hose makes it easy to check tire pressures for tires whose valve stem may be in an awkward position. The gauge comes in a protective plastic case, which will keep your other automotive tools from banging against it. One reviewer said it was made in America; from my own research it seems to be made in Taiwan, which is still much better than Communist China! I was using a Slime digital tire gauge, and it worked well until the batteries went out--and you could not easily change batteries. This Auto Meter gauge doesn't need batteries and will always be ready for use. Its dial is graduated for up to 60 psi--making it easier to read for passenger car tires. Dials going up to 100 psi or even higher have such tiny graduation marks that reading tire pressure can be very difficult. There is a bleed/reset button on the side of the gauge; press it to either return to zero or to gradually release air if you are checking an overinflated tire. Chaz Turbino: The reason it is hard to use is that the chuck is a bit small, so I find it hard to get the right seal on the tire valve resulting in some lost air. The gauge markings are also hard to read in dimly lit areas. But the good news is that it is very consistent and accurate, it matches my AccuTire digital gauges precisely unlike my AccuGage dial gauges that are always 0.5 - 1 psi lower than the AccuTire. The one real problem I have with this Auto Meter is that it slowly bleeds off air like there is an internal leak somewhere. If I push the release, the air releases as intended but if I leave the air inside after a reading it will slowly bleed off a few tenths of a psi per second.

S R: So, you're probably asking yourself...why would you want to spend this amount of money on an air pressure gauge? Does it glow in the dark? No. Is it digital? No. Does it use batteries? No.
If you want any of that, then this is not the gauge for you.
Everything about this gauge is outstanding. The build quality is incredible. Chrome plated fittings, braided stainless steel hose covering, rotating chucks, and a semi-soft rubber casing to protect the bezel.
Some other gauges have a rotating tip (nipple), but that's just another place for a gauge to leak from. Other brands also use brass fittings, which are garbage...they discolor, are soft, and dent easily. Jaco, Rhino, Longacre, Astral, Joe's Racing...they're all known for that.
Accuracy with this gauge is spot-on...every time
If you buy another gauge, you'll probably end up sending it back...and getting this...which you should have bought in the first place.
It's all about quality and accuracy, especially if you also own a motorcycle, where tire pressures are crucial. It also comes in it's own hard plastic protective case. You will not find anything remotely close, for quality and consistent accuracy than this....
