It is 1080 so not perfectly clear video. Day time images are good; during night, image cannot show anything beyond about 10 feet. The base is plastic so has to be careful not to apply too much pressure on it while installing. Adding it to my wifi network was not a smooth operation and thanks to the tech support's help on the chat line. Bottom line, for the sale price, this camera is worth the dollars. I also bought a solar panel for it from other brand. Although it said it is compatible, it is NOT. I will buy the ARLO solar panel which is little more expensive but worth it.

Dan: The media could not be loaded. The cameras served their purpose, and I gave it 3 stars. The camera notified me that someone was behind my shop, and when I logged in the siren was activated. But as you can see in the video, this guy was able to snap the mount with a cheap tote bin. He then smashed the camera. I was able to get in the car and get to the shop, but the photos are poor quailty, and the mount needs to be metal to prevent this

GaryGary: I have purchased three of these cameras. Overall, I am pleased the quality of the cameras and the video they provide. The app is versatile and has lots of options. Easy to set it up so my partner can see the cameras as well. Installation is easy. The night vision is decent. I combined one of my cameras with an Arlo solar panel and it keeps it powered up constantly. Without a solar panel, the camera needs to be taken down and charged up probably about every two months. The motion detection is sensitive enough to pick up cats walking across my lawn or ripples going across my pool. The app can distinguish between people, animals, and vehicles. Anything that doesn't fit those categories registers as "motion." Of course, this is not a robust system that will provide you constant video monitoring. If your internet goes down or you lose your phone, it's no good to you. However, if you're looking for a WiFi enabled motion detection system at a reasonable price with lots of versatility, I 100% recommend this product.

Mirri: We’ve had a couple of Arlo Pro 2 cameras for a couple of years and were pretty happy with them. We could have 2 weeks of cloud recordings for free. No paid plan required.
We wanted to add 2 more cameras to our system. I couldn’t find the Arlo Pro 2 cameras, but these looked similar, and because they are newer it didn’t surprise me that they can record at 4K. 1080 was adequate with the Arlo Pro 2 so 4K would be even better I thought.
When I first setup the cameras and added them to our 2 existing cameras, there was a free trial subscription that gave 30 days of cloud recordings. I didn’t see us ever needing 30 days as 2 weeks had been fine before. I didn’t say no to the free trial, it just happened when I set things up. Unfortunately it would appear that these cameras offer no recording once your free trial has come to an end. If you want to keep using them with cloud recording, you have to pay a monthly fee. This has become apparent as our free trial has ended and we suddenly can’t see any videos from these two cameras in the cloud while our other 2 arlo cameras are still recording and storing for free in the cloud.
Because of our previous...

C. Farber: I find these cameras to be increasingly frustrating, likely correlates with recent software updates. Seems they don’t test things all that well before release?
Ring has been far more solid software-wise.
Starting a couple months back, they must have been attempting to fix notification issues. Well they made it worse IMO. Now the number of events in the badge notification seems to sum up over time. ie, 10 motion events, go into app to view, clears.. next time you get 5 more events, the badge now says 15. And it keeps going. Only way to fix is to kill the app and relaunch.
Then very recently, I get false notifications. At least I think they are false. Motion detected in back yard, view it within seconds, nothing there, no video in the cloud.. nothing that explains why I received a notification. It keeps going notification every few minutes.. and I have to disable the camera. Restarting the camera doesn’t resolve. Either they are throwing false notifications (never see anything when going live) or they are failing to save the videos that I pay a monthly subscription to see..

Reader1Reader1: I’m really quite amazed. I purchased the Orbi 4g LTE modem-router for non-cable WiFi connection and matched the Orbi to 4 Arlo Essential security cameras. Should work, right? Never did anything like this before. Like so many of these electronic combinations that I’ve theorized about in the past, I assumed this wouldn’t work either. I talked to several advisors – Orbi technicians, Arlo community contributors. Everyone said it should work. And it did!!!! Amazing!!
The Orbi LBR20 was a bit of a challenge. The Obi app was skittish … worked sometimes, sometimes got stuck. The password used to set-up my Orbi account (Netgear) was not the same as the password needed to activate the Orbi modem-router for Internet connection; the Orbi password is printed on the label at the bottom of the Orbi unit … Oh, that password.
PureTalk (really AT&T) indicated that they had coverage for my barn’s Zip Code but could not guarantee the Sim card would work with Orbi LBR20 … not quite the confidence booster I needed. Ok … so brave as I am, I purchased the PureTalk Sim card and a 6 Gig data plan.
After everything arrived, I first tried to connect the Orbi...

SHAWN M: Picture quality is very good and the camera is easy to set up (I connected via an existing base station VMB4000 series using the Arlo app). With the 3 month trial subscription, the functionality is everything I've come to expect from Arlo based on my previous experiences with the Pro2 camera.
Battery life is extremely dependent on what you are using the camera for. If you are monitoring a high traffic area, you won't get a month out of it - even if you set it for optimized power management. Using it to monitor a more limited area without high traffic (I've been using it to monitor my garage entry) 3 or 4 months seems reasonable. The only way you'll get 6 months is if you point it at a wall so that it never triggers.
As mentioned, functionality is great - as long as you have a subscription. Once you don't the limitations become overwhelming. I had expected that since I was paired to an existing base station with USB storage attached that I'd be able to review recordings using the app the same way as I do for my other Arlo camera (Pro2). Turns out, that compatibility isn't there. If you want to see the recordings, you need to eject the USB from the base and view the recordings...

Joshua O.C.: Easy to use, screws into wall so it’s great if you live in an apartment. The quality of the video was great too. You do need to download the app and pay a subscription fee of like $2-$10 to use their services depending on how much storage you want vs allowing it to continuously loop. Charge lasts a couple weeks for me. The issue I ran into was that I was not being alerted to motions after a while, even after setting up an area for alerts. So it’s better for post security than for alerting at times! Overall great product and would buy another!
