DAS_Mi: This part saved us from what I was sure would be purchasing a new washing machine. I really liked the current model WFW8300SW04 that we have, and it is the perfect size for the space available in our small laundry room. The drain pump assembly came complete, and ready to install. We watched some YouTube videos of professional repair persons to see how to diagnose the issue, and after receiving the part, watched again to determine how to remove the old part and install the new one. It was a very easy process for complete appliance repair amateurs! I honestly recommend anyone who is hesitant to attempt their own repair to just go for it!
I will add, after watching the videos, we will definitely be cleaning out the "trap" monthly, as not doing so during the prior 10 years of use allowed the inevitable change, bolts, washers, pieces of pens, etc. to get into the pump propeller (or whatever it's called), and break it off. We were pretty shocked to find an Allen wrench in the large hose going into the trap. That hose will also be part of the monthly maintenance of the washer. I had done the other recommended maintenance since purchase, but didn't know about the need to clean out...
