All four glass tubes came intact with lids. I will happily buy another if I should run out.

Jackie Dougherty: I had been using an old test kit for years, not thinking it mattered all that much. But purchased this kit and compared readings, and discovered my nitrite was off!!! I'm lucky I didn't hurt my fish!

NSNO1878: Although price has gone up since last brought still £10-15 cheaper than most aquatic shops and is a must have for all aquariums as the test strips are useless from all brands.

A-BA-B: The perfect water testing kit! I’m a new aquarium owner and was using the dip sticks but found them hard to read and less accurate so found this kit! It is brilliant, the booklet is easy to use and tells you how to ‘fix’ your water too which as a beginner has been a life saver.
I did take a photo copy of the colour chart on the leaflet and annotated it with the leaflet info for my personal convenience which is what you can see in the attached. (I still use the actual leaflet to determine the test colours)
I would have given 5* but one of my glass test tubes was cracked when it arrived and ended up completely breaking when I got it out of the box which is very annoying but don’t want to return the whole kit as needed to test my water!
Overall, I definitely recommend this!

Andy Li: I got this test kit while I was trying to cycle my aquarium for the first time and was able to observe changes in the levels of nitrite and nitrate over time. I'm not sure how accurate this test kit is, but I once found that while there was a high level of nitrite in my tank, there was no nitrite in my tapwater, thus leading me to conclude that my aquarium still needed a few more days to develop the right bacteria to consume the nitrite.
My only complaint is that the provided test tubes for mixing the provided solution with samples of aquarium are incredibly fragile. After only using the test kit around 5-6 times, following the instructions provided and capping and uncapping the test tubes gently and slowly, still 3 of my test tubes have become fractured. They're still able to hold water but I'm concerned if they can even last for a few more tests.

Eve: Great way to test the water in your aquarium. So much easier than using paper strips!! and much more accurate!
The only reason I gave 4 stars is mine arrived with the Nitrate bottle spilled over itself (only a little) and into the box. One has to wear gloves when dealing with this chemical, which I did and cleaned it up. The other thing is the glass vials are SO DELICATE. You have to get the plastic lid on tight enough so that it doesn't spill while shaking vigorously, but then getting the lid off is very difficult not to squeeze the vial too hard. I have already broken one sadly, as hard as I tried to be gentle. But I'm still very happy with it!!

Concerned Consumer: When I got my new Fluval 107 water filter, I was reading the instruction manual, and they recommended that I should have a water test kit. Lucky for me I bought this one because it pretty much tests everything you need to know about your aquarium water such as the pH level, the ammonia level, the nitrates level and the nitrites level. I learned that too much nitrates in the water can kill your fish, which I did not know previously. I’ve had this one fish, a Plecostomus, since it was about 2 inches long. I’ve never used any water other than rainwater in my tank, so I figured it was safe enough and for the past 12 years the fish has grown to almost 12 inches long and seems to be very healthy. But after I bought the Fluval filter, I noticed some erratic behavior. So I moved it to another tank temporarily until I could test the water. The water tested slightly high on the nitrites, so I put a cap full of this product in the tank, which has about 7 gallons of water and the next day, the nitrites were down to zero.
On the negative side, there’s nothing in the instructions for this product to say you can use it like I did. Instructions say to dump the whole thing in a new...

Amazon Customer: Great little kit with simple instructions. Instructions would benefit from being in larger print. Will need to copy and enlarge them for regular use, but I guess by then I'll know what to do!
