Shay Marie: If you’re getting this instead of the flavored ones, DONT DO IT! This stuff works to help with your supply but oh my goodness the liquid, sour, stale beer bread taste 💀 i ended up getting some coco powder to mix with mine bc i couldn’t handle the flavor plain anymore.

DCBDCB: I went down the rabbit hole reading all the reviews that said this was not brewer’s yeast but in fact nutritional yeast and/or it didn’t work to ferment stuff, etc. I started with the strain of yeast and continued on. Turns out brewer’s yeast is made from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which also happens to be the same yeast that Nutritional Yeast is made of so no this isn’t nutritional yeast just because it uses the same one. I also have a bottle of nutritional yeast, it is yellow and smells completely different, and this one is tanish. I read negative things about the smell, its dead yeast, what do you expect it to smell like? Smells kinda earthy to me, not horrible but not like I want to be sniffing it all day. Speaking of dead yeast, brewer’s yeast is a dead yeast so I can see how it wouldn’t work well to ferment things, I wasn’t looking to get it for that anyhow so I didn’t care.
