I recently migrated to a new MacBook Pro 2023 which only offers USB-C/thunderbolt port so needed a couple of adapters to work with some older peripherals. The Anker adapters match the Space Grey MacBook Pro in terms of colour and overall build quality. They are physically small in size and do not block adjacent USB-C ports on the side of the MacBook Pro.

Muddy Dog: USB C is a great interface, however, new computers, tablets, and cell phones need to be able to connect to USB accessories such as external drives and USB type A thumb drives. This small solution is a very convenient solution made by a highly regarded manufacturer. Very happy.

Nick: I have some devices that are powered using USB-A, they have a decent size cable length, my laptop has only USB-C ports so the last thing i wanted was an adapter that comes on a cable.

this are brilliant and compact and can be connected to the end of the device, i have a razer gaming mic and some external SSD drives, so these compact adapters work a treat for aesthetics purposes too

Wayne R: 3 years ago I purchased a MacBook Pro and the accompanying Superdrive, which uses a USB A connector.

Apple had done away with these, in favour of twin USB C ports, and so connecting standard USB things required an adaptor.

Now, no adaptor I purchased, would make the SD work, and I kept getting a window saying 'accessory needs power', and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the thing to work.

I made an appointment to my local Apple store, and took my stuff to them, and asked them to work out, why it wasn't working together.
Their response was simple.....it's not compatible sir.

So for the past 3 years, the SD has sat in my cupboard until yesterday.

I stumbled across a video on YT, with a bloke who had the same issue, and his solution was to choose an adapter, which crucially didn't have a wire between the USB C plug and the adaptor itself.

The official apple adaptor had a wire, and other aftermarket ones did to, and I tried 3 or 4 of them, to no avail.

So, having used Anker products for ages, I ordered this, and thought, I have nothing to lose.

I tried it, and boom it fired into life and works absolutely...

KeanuKeanu: I'm very happy with this USB-C to A converter! First off the packaging was amazing, I love how I didn't have to cut or rip into the plastic part that is usually fully sealed within the cardboard for style of packaging. I can continue to re-use the packaging it came in and won't have these dangling around in a junk drawer. They snap into my USB-C ports well and accept the USB drives that I use.

Love this product, love the quality, I would highly recommend that you use this if you are looking for a reliable converter! Anker continues to deliver quality products and I am a long time customer of them. Looking forward to more!

Luigi: Premetto che ho acquistato molti prodotti Anker, e mi sono trovato sempre benissimo. Con questi adattatori, invece, ho avuto qualche problema. In particolare, li ho acquistati per collegare un HDD esterno al mio MacBook Pro. Quando effettuo la connessione, ho difficoltà a leggere dal disco esterno. Sembra che il portatile faccia fatica a leggere i dati. Ho provato la connessione usando un hub esterno (sempre Anker) ed il problema non si verifica. Probabilmente questi adattatori non lasciano passare abbastanza corrente per alimentare correttamente il disco esterno. Peccato, perché sembrano solidi, pratici e ben fatti.
Aggiornamento: sono stato contattato dall'assistenza Anker, che si è dimostrata molto professionale, mi ha dedicato tempo per risolvere il problema e alla fine mi ha rimborsato del costo del prodotto.
