gd: So compact, in fact, that I can no longer find it. I needed this to connect my macbook air to a new xfinity cable box/router to set it up for new install at my senior parents. Went well, worked well. They're still up and running a year later. Me? can't for the life of me find this adapter anywhere - their place or mine. Oh, well.

Sylvia: It works great and quality is amazing. I would recommend. My galaxy tab A is glitchy though and other adaptors didn’t work. This one at first also didn’t work with it, but then I found out there is a specific procedure I need to perform. So just in case anyone else out there has a galaxy tab A and has issues, try this: first, turn off the tablet. Then insert the Ethernet cable into the adaptor. Then insert the adaptor into your tablet so the three lights are facing the same direction as your screen is facing. Turn the tablet back on, the red light on the adaptor should light up and eventually the green one also and the blue light will flicker. At any point after the red light comes on, pull the adaptor out and flip it so the 3 lights are facing down and re-insert it into the tablet. The red light will come on again and then it will be connected to the internet

David Brown: I recently updated the OS on my MacBook Pro to Big Sur.....or at least tried to. It froze during the process and had to be rebooted. Most people had problems the first day. It did run most things OK, BUT the WiFi had to be re-set for almost every page. The WiFi was unstable and would quit working. I found out that there was a bug in the download that had been fixed, but with an unstable WiFi....it would probably not re-install. I got this adaptor, turned the WiFi OFF, installed the adaptor, connected to the router, then rebooted the machine. Perfect connection at full speed. Good indicator lights to monitor Data Transfer and connection. I then initiated re-installation of Big Sur, and complete success. WOW, it seems fantastic so far. There are times when you absolutely need a direct wired connection, and this is a great choice.

I submitted a warranty claim after this product broke, and within 7 business days, Anker mailed me a brand new USB-C to Ethernet adapter. So far the adapter works great—reaching desired speeds.

I would still be cautious over the build material. Now I am extra cautious regarding how I handle the new adapter.
Based on my experience with Anker's speedy and reliable customer support, I will give this product five stars. Also, I would recommend buying Anker products, purely based on their excellent customer support.

The reality is, I've had a bad experience with Anker products from day one.
5 years ago I purchased an Anker portable USB charging battery and it died within 6 months.

So I was very hesitant with purchasing this USB-C to Ethernet port device from Anker.
Yet, since most of the reviews for this product are of high opinion, I thought I would give Anker another chance.

The first little while the Anker USB-C to Ethernet device was working great—with Gigabit transfer rates.
However, an Ethernet cable would not disconnect from the port—until it snapped and broke the cheap plastic and...

Initially, I was clocking 200 Mbps (mind you I have a fiberoptic connection at home from Verizon). Then I installed the latest drivers for MacOS 10.3-10.16, and the performance improved drastically to the speed tests depicted above.

However, I am running the beta version of MacOS Mojave, and as it is beta, I am unable to accurately say with 100 percent confidence that the above sub-par performance is due to there not being any drivers for my OS. Below are the iperf results from my mac OS to a VPS instance hosted at Vultr:
