Harry: These work to keep out the leaves and protect your home. I purchased stainless hex screws to fasten them to the gutters. They are sturdy and powder coated. They are steel however and will rust out eventually. If they were aluminum or stainless it would be better. I will update as they age.
10/24/23 update. As some have mentioned these do cause some of the rain water to flow over the gutter and drip significantly. I suppose it may be a trade off however not ideal. I have another property that has gutter guard brand installed. They work well in mild to light rain. But let me tell you when it pours, almost all the rainwater flows over the lip, as the water momentum s to strong. Another property with a custom made on site brand similer that does the same.

P. Swims (a lot): I have been inundated with ads for "gutter guard installers" after upgrading my gutter system around the house. For less than $200 I was able to buy the necessary amount of guards from Amerimax and installed them in a few hours work over a couple of days. Now, just need to monitor to see how well the keep leaves, debris out of the gutters and allow the rain/storm drains to flow freely.

AmznFan989: Corrected to indicate that I have K-style gutters, not ogee.
I used 3 75-foot containers of the gutter screens. They are quite stout
and simple to use. I have 5-inch K-style gutters with long nails about
every 3 feet driven through the very top section of the gutters with
very little space between the top of the nails (aluminum spacers
covering the nails) and the bottom of the lip of the top of the gutters.
To use these screens, I had to use sheet metal snips to cut back
the lower part of the screens so that the spring ridge (lower part)
of the screens could fit between the nail/cover and the gutter lip inside.
I had both inside and outside 45 degree corners to fit, so custom
cutting was required many times. The screens appear deep enough
to use on 6 or 5 inch gutters, so they have to tuck up quite deeply
under my shingles in my 5 inch application. I found that at corners
in particular, cutting some of the top (back) of the screens made insertion
easier/possible. Also note that it required quite a bit of lifting
of shingles, so don't try this on a cold day or you may crack/break
shingles. The ends of the screen runs leave a...

BufferBuffer: I installed these as I live under several huge pine trees and the needles and cones were clogging up the gutters on a bi-monthly basis. Didn't expect these to catch all the needles but I've been positively surprised! Not only does it repel the hundreds of pine cones, but I'm guessing only 5-10% of the pine needles come through - so few that they instantly wash away with no issues!
Installation is easy - I have a very old house so one side was easier than the other where the gutter was pretty bumped up. A few screws to hold it in place did the trick and they look great - my house is in a dip so I can see them from the road and it actually makes the house look nicer.
Highly recommended, worth the effort to never have to clean your gutters again!

RonsOahu: Using a table saw and metal cutting blade I cut all of the gutter guards to 5" (same width as the gutter). With a little effort they slipped in perfectly. What a huge cost savings at $1.00 a foot.
