Aiva Black Beluga Lentils - 4 Pound Bag

Sarah D: About a a good as lentils get, in bulk, and for a good price. I eat black lentils every workday for lunch (5x/week) , and these have done the job well. However, it seems that at least once a week, I will chomp down on what seems to be some kind of hard rock/grit. Sometimes I can spit it out, sometimes I chomp hard enough that it breaks into a billion pieces and I just eat it anyways (not scared of eating rock sediment as I’ve eaten a lot of very questionably edible items in my life, and I think my gut is stronger for it, at least until it’s not lol) nonetheless, it always surprises me in a negative way, and kind of ruins my appetite for them. Luckily my molars are stronger than whatever is in these lentils

PS: simmer the lentils for 30-35 mins not per packet instructions.

I would have paid more for better packaging that was resealable. It'll take me months and several meals to eat 4 lbs of lentils.

Amazon Customer: I bought these on recommendation of Dr. Annie Fenn in her new book Brain Health Kitchen. They are a wholenew story in lentils. this is one of the best finds in a long time. nothing like the refried bean taste of regular lentils. and mixed with egg make a great breakfast meal.

Eagle 2: We mix all color varieties of lentils for eye candy look . Take ( One cup total lentils mixed, and two cups cool water) ad a dask of salt and blend until creamy looking . Let stand at least 4 hours in fridge . This is our way. Or, you may wish to store for next day overnite in fridge. lentils are much more nutricious and eye appealing IMHO and tase better as well. Experiment. Add a shake of this and a shake of that from herbs and spices to Tabasco. Remove the amount you plan on using and let it get to room temperature. Then lightly grease a 6 or 8 inch nonstick frying pan pre-heated to medium low. Make certain pan is hot for first scoop. adjust heat accordingly. Next ,Scoop a small ladel and spread evenly in circle. Do NOt poke at it, as this will cause it to stick and lump on spatula. Then let bubbles and steam come out then flip, you will judge how done or crispy . Experiment with making a mess of these at while you are already prepared ,and store then in the fridge for a few days or freeze a seperated stack for months. Everybody loves thes gems. Enjoy.
