I had my doubts on this working properly.. but to my surprise it works perfectly and with little to almost no sun. I used it for my bird bath and the only recommendation if use for this ..is to use the nossle that dont sprinkles to high or your birth bath will be empty the fountain since is sprinkles out. So keep the nossle that dont go that high.... and it works. LOVE IT

Got this for a small birdbath and the 1.5w is a perfect fit for keeping the water in the bath instead of the lawn. Lots of nozzle options and a bonus 4 plastic straws that will center the fountain in the bath. The only drawback is this unit, I assume cause its on the cheaper side, doesn't have a mesh filter. Depending on how attractive this is to birds, the unit should be flushed daily to keep waste out of the motor box. I didn't, and it stopped working so I used the flat blade of my lil swiss army knife to turn the white fan to dislodge the build up and it went back to working great. Overall highly recommended, but some maintenance is required.

I have a birdbath like several that are shown in review pictures. This solar fountain is perfect for it. I bought the one with the lowest wattage and was worried it would not be strong enough. However, I found I really could not have used a more forceful pump with this size fountain or the water would blow out over the sides. My birdbath is the one about 20 inches in diameter for the bowl and 28 inches high with little holes around the edge. I love that it comes with all the little attachments that change the water pattern and also the height of the stream. It is also true that it starts immediately when you get it in the sun (even while still in your hand) and that even when a cloud goes over it affects the pressure pushing the stream out. So, the pattern becomes lower or less when this happens. If the wind blows, I have changed the accessories so that only a single stream of water comes up and that keeps the water in the bowl of the birdbath. Without wind, I used the extension and an accessory for whatever pattern I choose for the day. I can't believe the enjoyment I am getting from this inexpensive purchase. I live in Florida and the sun if very hot...

A great little pump for the price. The only issue I had was it didn't stay put in the birdbath. I see there are two types of pumps that are sold; one that floats around and then this one I that I bought that sits stationary in the bottom of the bath. The ones that float around can work their way to the side of the bath and spray water out of the bath, eventually emptying it. That's what I like about this one; it is designed to stay put. The problem is there are 3 very small suction cups on the bottom that don't suction very well to the bottom of the bath (probably because it's concrete and not totally smooth), so it came loose after a few minutes and started floating around. i ended up taking a couple of 4" x 4" ceramic tiles from a left-over shower tile project, gluing them together and then zip tied them together and put them into the bottom of the bath. The suction cups grabbed onto the tiles nicely. The tiles are smaller than the solar panel, so you can't even see them, plus they keep the pump intake off of the bottom of the bath, so debris is less likely to work its way into the pump intake.
